I decided to go ahead and order a new 1k contra spring from scooterdawg. That way I'll have something to play with and make sure the factory one is replaced anyways..

Got the new 100cc big bore kit installed. Also installed the A9 Cam, 5 gram sliders and Gates Powerlink belt. Still waiting on the new 1K Contra spring, new wiring harness, Performance CDI, etc...
The BBK came with a #90 main jet. I expected an 85, which I already have, but that was a nice surprise. I've got a complete kit up to #100 coming also.

Went to install the new wiring harness and whadyaknow.. It's not right. Talked to ScrappyDawg scooters and they are going to allow me to return it. Nice. I'm in the process of stripping down my existing wiring harness, and tracing every wire to find out the problem.
I did get my new main jets and polyurethane fuel lines. Got the lines installed. Those are so much nicer than the stock ones..
Time to see what I can do with the old wiring harness...

Got the wiring harness done. Yay!
Very short video of my scooter rebuild after putting the BBK, A9 cam, gates belt, 8 gram rollers, performance CDI, performance ignition coil and NGK iridium plug in. It's still in shambles, but now I can concentrate on tuning and the body! YAY!

Glad you got it going, and pretty well by the looks of it.

Glad you got it going, and pretty well by the looks of it. Me too! I've still got some air/fuel tuning to do, but so far so good!

Well, finally time to update this thread! I've added some new equipment to the engine and now have it where I'm pretty satisfied with the performance. I've been working out the issues with the scooter since I've gotten it.
I'm now running with the following:
100cc (83cc) Big Bore Kit Big Valve Head with 20mm & 23mm valves Both Valves at .003 A9 Performance Cam Stock Crank Blue Performance Racing CDI 18mm KeiHin carb #90 Jet 1.5 turns out on the idle/fuel screw Needle clip set to mid position POD Filter 6 Gram Rollers 1k Contra Spring 15w40 Rotella T6
It's pretty much performance wise what I was hoping for.
Now time to start concentrating on the body panels and aesthetics! Hoping to get some of that done tomorrow!

Here's where I'm at so far. I've held off long enough from working on the body, especially since I have the engine where I want it. Here's where I'm at now.. I decided to go ahead and order some new rear panels since the ones that were on the scooter had broken and missing tabs, etc.. I've got everything else painted up though and am in the process of putting it on the scooter.. The black is Rustoleum Spray bed liner (about 3 coats), and the yellow is 3 coats of Krylon Fusion for Plastic over 3 coats of the spray bed liner. It actually turned out better than I thought it would! I also decided to go ahead and order a new performance variator. Just want to see what it'll do. Time to get back to work on the scoot!

Are you planning on a free flow exhaust?

Are you planning on a free flow exhaust? I am, but here's what I'm thinking about... I may buy another exhaust header, and cut the flange that bolts to the muffler and fab something up from there. We have some master welders at work, so and they are willing to help. I may also leave it as is. It runs really good with the existing exhaust.. actually perfect air to fuel ratio. I'm a little afraid of burning up the valves and all.. Does the stock header create enough restriction not to worry about that?

I think so, I've run free flow pipes since about day one. First engine (100cc BBK) died of terminal crankcase syndrome. Second one a gy6 150cc shortcase, i drove for about 2000 km. sold it and it still had a nice 140 PSI. The current one, i havent ride it enough to have any usefull info. I gutted a pipe like yours, it had a nice harley like sound, but it was loud. Maybe i over did it a bit. Did i say "gutted" ?

As long as you aren't cutting the stock header short and leaving it open to atmosphere you should be fine.

What if I don't cut the stock header short, but leave it to atmosphere?
