I own the same welder throw the HF wire away its junk spatters real bad use pritty much any other wire but HF go to like homedepot or lowes and get some .035 flux core should be like 30 bucks well worth it as for the welder i would deff practice with it first i dont take mine off the high setting and use your wire brush to clean the slag off after welding and the little metal nub on the back side is made for hammering the slag off the welds but ive welded 1/4" cab supports on the frame of a plow truck without them brakeing just need to practice

I have that exact same 90 amp welder and took the advice of members here and got decent wire after going through the whole roll of HF crap. Really does make a difference!

I need to replace the bearing in the gear housing that holds the primary. The last ring from the old bearing is still lodged. Do I use the freezer/heat method to press it in? I have a propane torch for the heat part. Or a soldering gun. Will that work? The housings in the freezer now.

if the old bearing is still stuck in the housing, don't chill the case, that will only lock it in tighter. Use a punch to try tapping it out evenly, or preferably a slide hammer type blind bearing puller. be careful with your sealing surfaces.

It's just the outer ring that's still lodged. Maybe I can drill it out.

A drill bit wont touch that tool steel!Only way I see it coming out is heating the housing with a propane torch till hot and rapping the housing on a wood block, may take a few tries,,wear thick gloves!!

That case can't be all that expensive. Most any scooter shop that does repairs will more then likely have one laying around that'll sell you cheap. Because that almost looks like you'll need to make a tool just to get it out. More time and money in the tool then the part is worth.
Sorry to sound negative but that looks like a real PITA

get yourself a dermal with a cut off wheel and slowly... I repeat slowly start to cut the bearing race but DO NOT CUT AL THE WAY TRU only till its about paper thin do this on opposite sides of the bearing race then strike it with a hammer and chisel it should spilt the bearing race and fall out of the case with the case un damaged u just need to take your time and go slow

You could also weld a washer to the inside of the race, then you will have something to hammer on. if you try that, be sure to let it cool completely before trying to hammer it out.

Eyeballed two studs for a decent line up. Wasn't absolutely true. But it might work.

Took everybody's advice. Gave the HF wire back. Picked up some home Depot wire. Decided not to practice due to material on hand. Wasn't the greatest beads. But I got an A frame welded up. Plan on mounting motor tommorrow.
