That would be small spline Thanks- that's what I was thinking by looking at high end cranks. They are mostly small spline.

I run the S6 race MKII and don't have a problem with it. You certainly can get 1000 miles out of it. I heard that the MalossiMHR big bore 77 was being discontinued. They have been popping up pretty cheap around the web.

That's my thought for the 77. Plus it's got a 50mm bore and stock stroke so I wouldn't have to clearance as much.

If what Gary @ Gforce said is correct than it could be an issue getting rings or pistons in the future. You'd have to open up the cylinder mounting area but that's all.

Hmmm decisions... Polini 86cc is also stock stroke. I just don't feel like paying outrageous prices for cranks for the larger displacements. I've found good prices for 16-18k cranks for the stock stroke. So I'm trying to use one of those.

A 50x40 cylinder is waaay over square, will never flow properly with narrow(top to bottom) transfers it must have with such a short stroke!Do your best to get a setup as close to 'square' as possible.Likely not an easy task because of the very dated designs we tinker with..

With the MHR 86 you need the Malossi crank with 13 mm small end bearing (very expensive) Racing Cylinder MALOSSI MHR "Big Bore" 86cc for MINARELLI horizontal 50cc 2-Stroke LC Ø 50,0mm, aluminium, 1 piston ring(s),pin 13mm, with cylinder head The 77 can be used with a standard 12 mm crank. The best place to buy the 77 is SIP Scootershop. Except they don't ship to the US. Unless you know somebody like me PM me if you want that cylinder from sip: www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/racing+cylinder+malossi+mhr+_m3113036

Doesnt the MHR 86 use a 44mm stroke crank?

Yes it does. That cylinder with the specialty crank that it requires is prohibitively expensive. I wouldn't get it.

That 77 is such a good deal. They like them in Canada!

Here's a build I've been thinking about doing for a long time now- even have an old thread about it somewhere... It's a bit of an "out of the box" build but I think it has great potential! I was thinking of using THIS Athena 80cc cylinder that is made to be used with the Athena 43mm stroke crank, but instead of using the Athena 70cc 43mm stroke crank, using a stock 42.5(?)mm stroke 90cc crank! So it's pretty square but my thinking about this frankenstein build would be that you get to have your cake and eat it too- the big transfers and RPM potential of the (tall) 47mm 70cc cylinder and the Torque of the 90cc crank! It seems like a good idea in my head! I will do this build someday but wouldn't mind seeing somebody beat me to it!!
