890km my two tow seems to be slowing down it's a 2014 when I take off seems peppy the Rom gets high for a bit then like hitting a wall it drops down never reaching again. Some days even durring long ride it gets worse hill performance sometimes ok some times slight incline knocks it down. Seems like the carb acts cold blooded other times feeling like it's in the drive train. I can't put my finger on it. Average crusing seems to b about 32 mph GPS. When coming down hill it screams. Carb belt or variator any thoughts

At 890km..my guess would be that the valves finally seated in..and valve lash needs to be adjusted. I commonly see this on new Scoots at about 500k-1,000k. Even my very own new scoot did the same thing.. Just my 4 cents.. <-- Gov dictated inflation..use to be 2 cents ya know..

Yes as stated above a valve check/adjust is a good place to start since it cost nothing. Cleaning the air filter is also free. If no improvement afterward I would do a complete checkup of the belt drive paying close attention to the weights, the three variator back plate guides and the contra spring. Make sure the variator sleeve fits snug in the variator. Not loose and sloppy. A little play is good but too much is not. If one or more of the back plate guides are broken/missing then the variator won't shift correctly (erratic) and it will actually wear out the metal the guides run against. The vartiator is a dry mechanism so there is not supposed to be any grease inside where the weights are. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/6604/cvt-basics-new-scooter-owners Worn out variator from running with no guides:

Dam inflation lol. Cool at this stage is a upgraded carb and belt actually help? I was wondering about the valves I'll have to watch a vid see how difficult that is I'm assuming I would need a gauge

I'm sure the scooter veterans are going to get on me about this bit of advice, but if it's a emergency situation, a soda can is just a tad bit thinner than .004. If your valves are way off cut a feeler gauge from a can. But to be honest .004 is too big of a gap for some scooters. Mine runs best set at .003 on intake and .004 on exhaust. So definitely get you a set of feeler gauges, because they are a must have if you own a scooter. Also, becareful when you tighten the valve cover bolts down. It doesnt take much to strip them! I have stripped one on my valve cover by snugging the bolt up "just a little more".

Did valves no change. However slight ticking around that was not as noticable as it is now. Is that ok?

Did valves no change. However slight ticking around that was not as noticable as it is now. Is that ok? Don't worry about it. Some tapping is okay. If it's excessively loud then maybe the gaps are too large but some light tapping is to be expected. When it comes to valves, slightly loose is better than too tight. Get in there and check out that belt drive. You have an impact wrench?

They will tighten up over time again and again so you gotta check them regularly. Like 3 or 4 times a year.

No impact wrench yet flat speed improved, coming down a big hill I can max out the speedo and maintain until I hit a hill. Rpm on flat with no hill assist seems way low. Is there something I'm not understanding
