Here in the U.K. during a misspent youth we used .22 air rifles manually loaded and charged by the spring they fired a small 5mm ish lead pellet good for cans and targets, tops it would drop a starling rabbits if really close! Is that what a .22 is in the USA.

Is that what a .22 is in the USA. Geoff We have .22 and .177 air guns/rifles that use springs or co2. They fire BBS or Pellets. This is what we really mean when talking about .22s On the left is a .22lr(long rifle)bullet and on the right is a .22magnum bullet. The .22lr is the most commonly used cartridge for revolvers, pistols and rifles. The .22magnum is the high powered version but can only be used in a .22 magnum firearm because of its size(too big for a .22lr magazine).

Thanks clears that up in my head, so "he was shot with a 22" would refer to a proper bullet rather than my minds eye of the air rifle pellet.?why the 50p coin.

The coin was to give you an idea of the actual size of the bullets. Sorry, I’m all out of pound coins lol.

Geoff Had to get two bb's removed twice at different time, right leg left of the knee cap inside leg part, i pushed it up 1 1/2" tried getting it out had to go to the hospital. I had a powell peralta board, it was put on a dresser to be shot at, i instantly went to grab it, with my right thumb facing the pump bb hand gun & my thumb against the board he shot, went in to the thumb bewteen the two knuckles, bounced inside from the board, left a dent in it but almost lost my thumb, got it surgically removed. I got 15k usd on that lawsuit when i was 14 or so. I grew up with daisy pump rifles and ironically the same model bb hand pump gun that my thumb was shot with.

You have to buy the Malossi springs for their clutches. They are a different size to standard.

Not super expensive, but it feels significant. Little blurry from the medical tape covering it. I’ll update the pic once it’s healed.
