We brought my girlfriends flute and piccolo on vacation with us to visit a far away instrument store, we expected to pay for a tune-up and maybe some repairs but the news was a lot worse than expected and between the timetable the shop needed to work on the instruments and the cost of the repairs I instead decided to replace both instruments. So Friday I bought a Di Zhao Rosewood Piccolo and a Kessler Custom - Artist Series Flute with C# Trill Key.

Rob,that's taking go big or go home to the next level enjoy but I would be seeking some pro help with the learning curve Geoff There are loads of 600cc Honda Shadows around but I do like different. For the same price as a Shadow I got this. This is different. Never fear, I’ll be gentle with it. I need to learn clutch/back brake balance for starting and stopping. It’s so much different.

Bit the bullet and went big. 2008 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 2v Abs, fuel injected, 6 speed with panniers Soooo different from scooting around. So much to think about that’s NOT an automatic thing after three years of scootin. It’ll take me awhile to get steady. I can ride it around, I’ve done 1st/2nd/3rd and “gingerly” slipped the clutch uphill into my garage. It’s gonna take awhile to get “up to speed.” Nice purchase Rob. They have a nice tractable engine. They are a bit different to riding a normal motorcycle too. The shaft drive does strange things to the handling. Just another quirky thing to get used to. 👍

That looks very clean! When I got my first bike at 16, the Yamaha slider.A boy down my street had one of these brand new, he claimed it did 70 mph we knew they were quick but you will have to confirm for us!

I picked this up a couple weeks ago , 2017 with under 1000miles.. the guy I got it from kept it in his kitchen and said it’s never seen the rain… a rarity in the U.K. from the usual abused delivery pcx

RS50 is quite rare here. Going for good money now. Most are in very rough condition though. I know someone who had one yambw’s he said it did 45mph. Was pretty stock though.

I’m $620 into a new aquarium, gonna be a 7.5gallon nano reef. So far this is the cost of dry goods (tank, lighting, filtration, pump, heater, auto top off). Once I’m ready with where I want to put it, I’ll go to the local reef place for sand and some rocks, fill it let it cycle for a while, then stock it lightly. Gonna be mostly corals and inverts, probably just one or maybe two tiny fish. Been out of the hobby for a while, excited to start back up! www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/427087-75g-smooth-corner-lil-reefer/

My sport bike friend keeps telling me I should get a helmet communicator so I got a Sena 50S with Harmon Kardon speakers. I only looked at Sena because that’s what he has and it sounds like it’s easier to use the same brand. Haven’t tried the intercom yet, but I have rode a few hours so far listening to music. I have to wear earplugs on the TMAX if I don’t want dull ringing ears, so basically I hear treble when riding and it doesn’t get very loud. I have to keep it one notch from full volume or it distorts significantly. Just testing at home without earplugs, it doesn’t sound bad and is plenty loud. It could pair with earbuds and probably sound much better for me… if the earbuds quieted the exhaust enough while still letting me hear things around me. The jog dial is easy enough to use for volume, skipping tracks and pausing music, but I haven’t messed with anything else yet. Aside from that and the intercom, I should be able to take calls with it and give it voice commands.

Just paid the credit card bill. $208 worth of gas for scooters alone in the last month. I'm usually paying around $4/gal for premium. Turns out there may be such a thing as riding too much.
While I'm here... I posted the Sena communicator above. I've used the intercom now. I'm very impressed. Even moving at pretty high speed, I'm not hearing wind noise and my friend says the same... even if we open our visors. Comes through clear. I also like being able to use it for directions. It's still expensive to me, but at least it seems like they've got it right.

New air compressor for the “factory”! The old one was the same size but a single stage. It was loud. When I first converted a garage stall to a factory, it was in a corner behind the CNC. When I got my new CNC, I moved it outside of the main room and built a box around it. That made it very tolerable in the factory, not so much in the garage but better than before. I think the box is what killed it though. The new one is two-stage with a means to add a muffler to the inlet. When I dig the old one out, the box goes with it.

Try some acoustic ceiling tiles on the walls around it. The cheap way recycled cardboard egg cartons.

When I opened the box to remove the old compressor, I pressed the reset button on the motor and it fired right up. It’s now for sale on Facebook marketplace. The new compressor is in the old stall but the box will not be enclosed.
