Hey Guys, so i just recently posted this thread the other day and the answer i got initially has completely altered my current game plan. I received my refund from 02starrider(ebay seller) and now am putting a parts/price list together on this 52mm Hoca Stroker build.
Should i go with a different carb thank this one 23mm CVK Big Bore performance carburetor? its from scrappydawgs site
Also I will be getting a performance clutch and a9 cam and variator with sliders.
lastly, anyone have the 49/17 gears installed on their bbk, would it be be a for sure go with it since im doing the 52mm and stroker crank?

ok so i will propose another question, if i am looking to ride this thing everyday and just want optimal speed, should i just go with the 50mm bbk and clutch carb variator sliders and belt? i dont want to invest a chunk and it be fast as hell but yet be dead in a few months. its a daily driver for me

Even the 50mm bbk is pushing the limits of reliability- a lot of stories of broken cranks...

If you were to build it, would you be willing to provide links to the componots. I will purchase these tonight. I have like 30 tabs open with parts all over the place because i have been going back and forth between builds and if the 47mm kit will get my 150lb ass scooting at 50 then i will pay the price. Like i said i want to buy CVT and all

I went to one of the bbk suppliers that was mentioned in a post on this forum as being one of the best. I was amazed at the high prices and even more amazed that they had language speaking about longevity like: If the kit is installed properly and If the engine is maintained properly, you can expect to get up to 3,000 miles out of it. What? My stock engine has over 4,000 miles on it and counting and I can not believe that folks would pay that kind of money to have it only last 3,000 miles? I can buy a new engine for the prices of some of these kits.
To each his own I suppose.

I'm going fast or going broke doesn't matter to me a piston through my crank case would be a trophy to me so wouldn't a broken crank. If its a cheap chinese scooter and you modify it expect stuff to break all the time.. It's part of the fun.

Im asking for advice in regards to parts lists with links

One thing to remember is your pushing a little engine to more than what it was meant to. The other thing is just because you can max out at fifty doesn't mean you go fifty where ever you go. My little scooter can handle forty without a sweat. Fifty I'm pushing it. Change the oil regularly along with the gear oil. Especially during break in I was told change within the first 20 miles then 100 and to do this 3 to 4 more times. Also use assembly lube going together and torque your head with a torque wrench.

If you've ever laid eyes on the 139qmb crank you'll quickly understand why putting a 50mm piston on that comically tiny and feeble crank is like swinging an apple around on the end of a pencil- the pencil is gonna break! If you want to go fast on a scoot you're better off with a 2 stroke. That's why us 2t guys are so darned passionate about our 2t's. 4 pokes are what scoot jokes are made of! However, if you must dump money into it to try to make it fast- just go to the 'Builds' section and see many many folks who have done the same, then go to this list and weep! 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/11206/scoot-speed-list

Will a 2T 49cc engine bolt into a 49cc 4T frame easily? If so, that would be a decent upgrade. Bill

Haha well it is tempting to answer every "how do I make my scoot fast?" question with the answer: "Buy a 2 stroke." but it's all love here! Nothing wrong with 4 pokes but a 49cc 139qmb is not exactly gonna b fast no matter what you do to it! Unfortunately the typical Cinese 139qmb 4t is a bottom mount and the typical Minarelli 2t is top mount but there are some bottom mount 2t's out there but nothing is going to bolt in easily- there would be fabrication involved.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2fhMWC6e5g granted in the comments it states its a 150 bored out. However two strokes are a thing of our past unfortunately. You can't just buy a two stroke off the shelf anymore ten years from now I can't even imagine what it will be like. I myself plan on buying a 2t however I know the build will cost a hell of lot more. In my area late model 2ts are very hard to come by the best you can find are old mopeds with pedals with half the parts missing and good luck finding parts for those.

Ok so what would be a 2t to look at? whether used or new? I dont know the brands/models. This taotao was my first and only so its all i know. If i was to peruse around craigslist or the used cycles places around town, what would be something to look for? Keep in mind i will need to stay 50cc and upgrade it
