What are the low, average and danger temperatures of a Liquid cooled and air cooled Malossi 70cc BBK ?
I know that there are 3 ways to measure:
1. Gauge that goes into the hose near the radiator 2. Thermocouple that goes straight into the cylinder head, next to the spark plug 3. CHT that gets screwed in with the spark plug
PS: The one I use is the Thermocouple that goes into the cylinderhead on its own and currently it's reading around 210f - 220f at 3/4 throttle which is around 8500-9000rpm. At WOT it could get up to 230f. 9600rpm

I have a Malossi ac kit on my Derbi. The highest temp I have seen is 312°. 90GTVert said ac kits should be below 375°. Not sure about the lc kits but I would think the coolant temps should be around 220° ish. I don't have much experience with lc.

I use the spark plug sensor on my ac kit.

I use the spark plug sensor on my ac kit. Just wondering though, I know the thermocouple gauge I have has a prong that touches the coolant in the cylinder, but since it's also attached to the cylinder head like the CHT / Spark Plug gauge, how much would the temp differ or if any?

Mine is usually about 20 degree diff in cht and water temp... Water stays around 170 ish and cht is around 150 ish if this helps

When I had my Malossi ac iron bore setup the highest I've seen my cylinder temperature was 270-280F after a 6mile wot ride. My Stage6 ac aluminum bore hovers around 185-190F idling and around 220 after a 1/2 mile wot ride

Hemmm.... Worried about mine ... It peaks out at 236f.
I got the biggest radiator and the placement can't be modified for more air flow

Yea that is deft high temps you got there.... How much water does tot system hold? Like what a pint.? Mine hold almost a quart of water, which is a lot compared to others it seems.

I don't know how much but it uses a dirt bike radiator and a racing coolant.

perhaps the addition of a fan blowing more air over the radiator is in order.

perhaps the addition of a fan blowing more air over the radiator is in order. 190mech and I talked about this, he even drew a diagram for me (such a nice person). But unfortunately I think if I put a fan, it'll hit the front wheel. I wonder if small PC fans would be enough and thin enough though

What type of coolant are you using straight water, 50/50 mix?? Water will be lower temp then coolant but has no corrosion protection. Water wetter or purple ice are additives that are said to lower temps when mixed with water or coolant. I can confirm that they do work.

I just realized you were running an electric pump I think it could be possible for a pump to flow too fast as it won't have time to transfer heat to the radiator. What kind of pump are you running. Just a thought...

Why is 230 degrees high? I see about 350 on a hot day. Air cooled. 230 degrees. Your piston should last forever.
