I'm in el paso texas and most of the bikers around here are nice... ahem let me take that back... respectful... I've gotta a hand back from pretty much every, even a few banditos! There have been those few that clearly see me and ignore me, like these two GUYS on a bike today who both looked me in the eyes and still didn't wave back. I'm just curious to yalls response when you give the biker wave.

If I have to wave to every single person that rides a Scooter or Bike my hand would fall off. Too many bikers/scooterists here. And besides how does a biker-waving look like?

In the UK, we just nod our head. If your riding a scooter, or any bike with "L" plates they just ignore you. I not at Everyone. Most Harley, or BMW GS Riders will ignore you, even on the motorcycle lol

I voted "Waves back" because I get more returns than not, but I get a mixture. About the only time that it's been 100% to get a wave back is on the rare occasion that I see anyone else on 2 wheels when it's really cold out. I guess scooter or not they're all happy to see someone else as crazy and cold as they are. I hardly ever see someone else on a bike if it's near freezing or below though. I think my chances of getting a wave back from another scooter may be the lowest. Prob 50/50, though many just beep, but I rarely encounter other scooters here.

I don't wave a lot. For me riding my motorcycle isn't about being part of a club. It's about being out on my own. I ride a scooter around town because it's fun, cheap and I get to spend time with my kid who at 16 doesn't want to hang with me much anymore. I'll wave back sometimes, but I rarely wave first. Not that I'm being a jerk about it. I'm just more focused on the ride, than looking for people to wave at.

I never wave at motorcyclists...dunno what the use is? Only wave a people i know. You don't wave at every car driver too right? Oh and here we have bicycle lanes everywhere and scooters are only allowed there and not on the 'normal' roads.
I don't know...think it's a bit lame because you don't even know the other person and a scooter and motorcycle are just too different imo. Maybe the whole scooter/motorcycle culture here is different? I think in the states more adults driver scooters than here? I think the culture here is that scooters are for juveniles and not really for serious adults.

I will normally nod rather than wave, but I wave sometimes, especially if we make eye contact. I have never had anyone on a bike be rude. Sometimes they nod or wave back, sometimes they don't. Most of the time if they don't wave or nod it is because they either didn't see me or their hands are probably busy doing something else. I have even had some harley and gold wing riders wave at me first. It seems to be the sport bike riders that ignore you more than anything.
If I see someone else on a scooter I will go out of my way to wave and smile or even say something if there is time.
Honestly I get way more positive comments than I do negative ones. Actually I have only had one negative experience and that was when I went in a custom harley store to look for an air filter. They didn't even bother to help me. They said they only sell harley parts and went back to what they were doing.
I get a lot of "how fast does it go?", "how good is it on gas?", and "how much did it cost" questions.

They said they only sell harley parts and went back to what they were doing. Not a big loss unless you were looking to weigh down your scooter with lots of overpriced chrome parts emblazoned with eagles and lightning or sporting tassels. At least all my local Harley shop has is that stuff and then Harley trinkets and clothing.

All I wanted was an air filter with 38-40 mm opening. This wasn't a harley dealership either, it was a custom cycle shop. The name is actually Larry's Custom Cycle Shop or something to that effect. I didn't see any sign on the door that said "harley parts only!" so I figured I would give it a shot. Was a bunch of people sitting around in lawn chairs BSing. They didn't even bother to get up and help me.
The actual harley dealership is pretty nice. The guy at Napa actually took me in the back and we looked at all the filters to see if he had something that would work. Couldn't find anything close. I was kind of impressed, that was a lot of time spent on something that probably would have amounted to a 8 dollar sale lol.
