Tim suggested in another thread that it would be cool to have a riding stats thread, so here it is. What mileage have you racked up on your scoots? How often do ya ride? Just for the heck of it, how many times have you or someone else wrecked each scoot (something fairly serious, not a scratch from bumping a garage door or tipping over in the yard with no harm)?
Scoot : Vento Triton (T1)
Purchase Date : Mid 2006
Mileage : 4,500
Crashes : 1
My first scoot was off the road for a long time after a crash by the time I healed up and then managed to find parts it was probably half a year or more. Then it went off the road again with engine troubles for a long time. It really hasn't had any significant miles since around 2008 I guess.
Scoot : Vento Triton (T2)
Purchase Date : Dec 2008
Mileage : 7,500
Crashes : 1
This one was a real project when I got it, and by the time it was in good reliable form it was mid 2009. I put about 7,000 miles on it from Apr 2009 to Nov 2009. Then it was wrecked and the scoot and I were off the road till spring 2010 basically. The crank went shortly after. Back off the road for a new build.
Scoot : SunL SL50-QT-16
Purchase Date : Jul 2009
Mileage : 4,000
Crashes : 1
I got this one in need of a resto, so it stayed off of the road for a bit after I got it. It also spent a long time off the road for parts or experiments. lol I ended up chopping the frame up into pieces to get my revenge for all this scoot put me through.
Scoot : Keeway Venus
Purchase Date : Apr 2010
Mileage : 2,000
Crashes : Coming Soon?
Of course this one also immediately underwent mods and it took a short period of time to get it up and running well. Then it went back off the road for a bit for the 90cc swap and all the tuning and tinkering.
Scoot : Roketa Cayman 150 (Belongs to a friend, stays in my garage)
Purchase Date : Mid 2007
Mileage : 1,000 in 1 month by me, 2,500 total
Crashes : None by me, 1 by the owner's GF
I ride a hell of a lot in nice weather. I still ride in nasty weather, but not all that much. Just enough to stay relatively sane. If I'd quit hurting myself and hurting the scoots and trying out different things, I'd probably have a lot more than the measly 19,000 miles in almost 5 years.
So, how much do you ride?
