Alright, success w/out a tool purchase ;D. I had a feeling awhile back when you got it running you would like the power . So the intake ended up being ok? You shouldnt have a problem getting $450, maybe take 400 . Is the speedo plastic still busted up? I think the front end storage is different...I have never seen that on a scooter before. Heck, if you werent so far away ide be offering some $ and a fourstroke 50 in trade ;D I would have offered up my stock top-end but it seems every time i think i can "experiment" or offer it to a fellow scooterist i end up needing it so i figured i better keep it around . Glad a couple of our fellow members could help . Thats what its all about guys!!!

I completely forgot about the speedo plastic being busted up. Get me a head-on picture of it so I can see if I have anything that'll fit it. The plastic from this BKM Xenon (clone of 2strokd's skeedr) might be the same. If so, you can have it.

Thanks for the offer but I'm just gonna repair the speedo lens with a piece of plexi. I took the busted lens and ran it VERY SLOWLY through my table saw on edge to remove the face of the lens leaving the lens frame or "ring" intact. Then I traced the shape of it on a piece of 1/8 inch Plexi-glass and cut it out again SLOWLY on the saw. I will use clear silicone sealant to attach and weatherproof it. Have to go buy a tube today. It won't look that obvious if I'm neat with the sealant. The needle for the fuel gauge got broken somehow and I can't find the piece that broke off so I'm thinking about gluing a toothpick on there or something or just leaving it broken. (yellow arrow) I just have the plexi resting on there for this pic As for that rubber manifold piece, it seems like it's not leaking but it shows signs of cracking on the outside so I ordered a new one. I'm waiting to install the body plastics so replacing it will be easier. This piece: www.partsforscooters.com/161-84?sc=9&category=485

Wow, good work with the dash man! ;D I wouldnt even worry bout the gas needle, still gives ya reading right? Cant you just use a rubber hose for the intake adapter?

Wow, good work with the dash man! ;D I wouldnt even worry bout the gas needle, still gives ya reading right? Cant you just use a rubber hose for the intake adapter? I suppose I could get some rubber hose that would work but it's only a $5 part and I wanted new mirrors for it anyway so I went ahead and ordered the right part. I figure I might have this scooter for a while before someone buys it and I don't want any problems when people come over to test ride it. Oh yeah, I found a container of multi-colored plastic swizzle sticks in a kitchen drawer. I'm thinking about gluing an inch or so of the tip of a yellow one for the indicator needle. But your right, it still reads fine with a broken needle.

Hey great job! That should bring that extra $50 ;D Yeah it's the little extras that bring in the big bucks. Well, now the friggin' blinkers are acting up. They stopped working yesterday for a few minutes and then they started working again after I walked away and came back. Now they refuse to work at all. I checked every connection and they look fine. The leads to the flasher relay are getting 12 volts when I turn the switch on in both directions so I'm stumped.

If the flasher has power you should get pulsing signals out of it. If not, it's bad or somethings loose in there since it worked off and on.
Nice work on the needle.

It's funny... I am using the battery from my daily driver to test the Zip scooter. I decided to go to Pep Boys and get a new relay. I disconnected the battery from the Zip so I could ride my other scooter to go get the relay and on returning with the new relay I connected the battery back up and connect the new flasher and Voila! The blinkers worked! So I thought: "Okay! That was the problem" Then for sh*ts and giggles I connect the old flasher and they worked with the old flasher too! WTF? :? The only thing I can figure is that something resets itself when you disconnect the battery for an extended period. Anyway, it's friggin' weird and I don't understand it. I'm just glad they decided to work finally.

That is odd. Still could be something loose in the old flasher something.

Coulda just been from moving the flasher around...I had to get a new one last spring, my old one worked when it wanted. One day i would have it flashin great and i would forget about it, then the next day my signals wouldnt flash.

You guys are prolly right. I carried the old relay in my pocket to Pep Boys. Maybe the body heat and moving it around did something...
I saved the receipt for the new relay but I'm gonna hold onto it til I wave goodbye to the scooter just in case.
