That's not really a good way to tighten or remove nuts. You're better off holding the flywheel itself or the vari. CVT cover gasket is only gonna matter for spacing and keeping the CVT cover from rattling. If the starter works well and you don't have a rattle, you don't really need to use the CVT cover gasket. Damn, I just learned something new. I've always thrown them gaskets away. On a Kymco they're needed to keep things from binding inside. It was the first thing I was told when I bought mine. Hi all. New member, first post, etc. I bought this Peace Sports 50 off Craigslist for about $300 back around August. Generic Chinese 50cc GY6 engine. First off I removed all the body panels to paint it black (It was bright yellow. Can't have that..) and decided that I liked it better without the body panels and that I'd be going for a more of a skeleton look. I replaced the carb shortly after I got it since the stock one was sealed up and had some issues that I couldn't be bothered to figure out when a new and better one was so cheap. I cut out the front of the airbox (Gave it a nice deep tone at WOT) and cut around the tiny hole at the back of the muffler which freed up the airflow a bit and made it sound better. The latest thing I've done is replace the big ugly brake light cluster with a small LED one off eBay. Wired it up and it works great. This was just the start of replacing all the lights with LEDs. I plan on removing the entire dashboard (Neither of the gauges work anyway. The gas float is stuck at the bottom of the tank due to the foam disintegrating and the hub for the speedometer on the front axle just doesn't spin the cable. Because of this I don't even know how many miles are on the thing. I just know that it's at least 450. ) and getting new brake levers/buttons since currently the buttons are integrated with the dash and my rear brake lever is broken off at the end due to a PO (I'm the 3rd owner of this magnificent machine) falling off at some point. I'll get small LED strips for blinkers and a pair of small 20w Cree motorcycle headlights. I have everything picked out. I also plan on painting the wheels black, balancing said wheels, (Wheel weights in the mail) trimming the floorboard/battery holder/thing and putting it back in, etc. Now for the problems so far: I bought some 5g sliders to try putting into the stock variator. Cannot get the nut off. I soaked it in liquid wrench and got the best grip I could on the teeth and I still couldn't keep it still well enough to break it free. Next step is an impact I think. Also before I replaced the carb it had some bad hard start issues which drained the battery and wouldn't start until I hit the kick starter as fast as I could. As a result, the CVT cover is broken. I tried JB welding it but that broke too, and recently a corner of the cover broke off when I removed it. I've given up on trying to fix it and I'll replace it. Sometime. If I feel like it. Last week I ordered one of those cheap 100cc BBKs off Amazon. Amazingly, it still hasn't shipped. When I get it I plan on porting and polishing the head, lapping the valves, all that jazz. Hopefully by then I'll have bought a impact wrench from a pawn shop or something and gotten the variator off to replace the rollers. ANYWAY, pics: The night I brought this magnificent beast (Named Mr Scootson) home. (Don't have a pic with the new rear light cluster ATM.) My professional tuning JDM billet aluminum cold air intake. Let me know what you guys think.

Also, would a 150cc head fit on this thing or no?

Also, would a 150cc head fit on this thing or no? No. You need to stick wit heads designed for the 139QMB.

Started trying to get an old BMX handlebar on it. I fucked up by estimating that the bottom part of the original handlebar was about the right size for the BMX handlebar grippy thingy. (Whatever you call it.) So I chopped off the bottom of the old handlebar for the BMX handlebar to go onto. It's just barely too big. I've been attacking it with a file, but progress is slow. Next is to get some Dremel bits to speed up the process. Eventually it'll look great. Eventually.
In the meantime I've ordered some stuff for the BMX handlebars. Control things with the buttons for starter/blinker/horn/etc since the stock ones are integrated into the ugly dash thing, Cree 20w headlight that should just screw right on, (Eventually I'll have two side by side, one that turns on with the high beam switch.) some LED strips for front blinkers, and a 7a battery so I can stop using my drill to start the thing.

BMX handlebar thingy is only halfway on but it seems good enough until I can get Dremel stuff. New problem: front brake line isn't long enough. Just a couple inches too short. Rear brake cable is just barely long enough.
I mean. At least I have a reason to take off the dumb ABS canister..
I wish I never did this.

I've heard that duct tape can solve any problem.

Stuck my new camera on (Dazzne P2) the airbox and went for a quick test ride which went well. It also still doesn't idle once it's warmed up. I hate everything.

Holy shit, that was just the camera taking a fall, right? That surprised the hell out of me! My stomach seriously turned. I can't stand falls very well, especially after having just a few.

Yeah, it was just the camera when I went over some bumps. The plastic around the lens on the "waterproof" case is a bit banged up, but otherwise no damage. I'll be drilling a hole over the mic area so in the future the audio is less muffled and making sure that the sticky pads on the mounts are sufficiently stuck. Me/the scooter have taken a couple falls but nothing serious at all. One, like a day after I got it, I was riding in the wet and locked up the front wheel turning at a low speed and one when I was trying to do something dumb in gravel. Only got a few scratches, nothing serious at all. The scooter already has fall damage from the previous owners but it's really just the (now gone) plastics all scratched up and the end of the left brake lever is missing the ball. (I'll be replacing it sometime.)

I've had just about every Scooter I've gotten with the end of one of the levers busted off. Seems like it's their destiny. Those cross walk stripes will get you in the wet! They scare me!

Bought Dremel stuff from Walmart and a bit of grinding later the handlebars fit pretty well. Scraped off the old BOOTY and Danscomp stickers, sanded down the rust spots and everything, and put on the first layer of paint. I use top quality $1 cans of black spraypaint from Walmart but I forgot to buy some today so I'll be lucky if I can even finish a second coat. After a few coats I'll probably use this old can of clearcoat I found on a shelf. Tomorrow I'll keep painting, put in the smaller pilot jet, and put the exhaust crush washer in. (I forgot to put it in when I installed the BBK.)

Went to Harbor Freight with a 20% off coupon out of a magazine and a 25% coupon for Jan 1. Bought a decent ($50 before discounts) impact and an impact socket set. Also a free multimeter because why not. I couldn't get the nut off with a big pipe over my socket and pliers jammed into the teeth to keep it still, but the impact had no problem. Replaced stock rollers with 9g ones that came with my BBK and replaced the (Chinese sounding gibberish) belt with a Gates Powerlink. I don't have calipers, but the new belt was noticeably wider than the old one. Hopefully now I can go a bit more than 35-40.. Battery is hopefully arriving tomorrow, for now I'm still drill starting the thing.
Also I love my new impact. It's had such a big impact on my life so far.

I love my Hf impact. That thing has had no trouble with scooter bolts.

Did the exhaust crush washer that I forgot earlier. Also attempted to remove the rear wheel. Didn't have a socket big enough in metric and tried the best fitting one in standard size which went well.. Partially rounded off the outer side of the nut. Great. What size socket am I supposed to use?
