Yes, in all seriousness humanshield, your point is not lost on me. Just havin' fun talkin scoots! There is no replacement for displacement. I think if we all looked at scoot ownership rationally we'd probably just be riding motorcycles haha. Come to think of it- why do we do what we do with these little scoots? Oh yeah, they're cheap and fun to modify! I was going to say I'd probably just buy something bigger if I were relying on my scoot as daily transportation as opposed to modifying it to be faster, but who am I kidding- I was still modding my scoot even when it was my daily transportation to work. My Roketa scoot is currently running good and plenty fast enough to keep up with local traffic. I've even taken it on some "long" rides down to the big city ( a long ride to me is probably just a jaunt to many here like Brent who truly puts the miles down), but of course I'm itching to do something else to it. Can't seem to just leave well enough alone. Mod. mod. mod!

My neighbor walked over to ask if I could keep an eye on his house and saw the scoot in the garage. He asked if I had sold it and I told him I just quit putting it in the yard for lack of interest. He says he'll give me $500 the middle of next month. I told him it's a 150 and needs to be tagged as a motorcycle and needs a motorcycle license, but that didn't all seem to sink in or he didn't care so I don't think it's serious. He told me he needs a car because he buys one and then it breaks down and he wishes he paid attention all the times he was around when I was building my Mustang, but the scooter may work for in town at his girl's house. I did teach him to change the oil in his Accord years ago, but I don't think a Chinese scooter is for him anyway. I may actually talk him out of it if he does show up with money so I don't end up working on it.

Could be a long term investment, he breaks it you fix and repeat. I tend not to sell to family, friends or neighbors.

Could be a long term investment, he breaks it you fix and repeat. I know how it would go though. "C'mon Bret (known me since we were kids, still doesn't know there's an n in my name), help me out". " it. Bring it over." I'd sell it to some of my friends in a heartbeat, but they would actually pay attention and know what they're buying. Hmmm, I wonder if my neighbor spends much time on craigslist.

My neighbor calls me Scott. 5 years later I just go with it. If he's that kind of person I wouldn't. He'll get hurt and the parents will blame you.

It's been the better part of a month now and only one serious inquiry and 8 views on the video. No one else has contacted me at all in the last basically 2 weeks. I think it's only gonna get harder to sell with some 50 degree nights reminding people that the weather won't be great for riding that much longer. I've sunk down to the 4th row if you search for "scooter" so I guess I should delete and re-list soon to get to the top. I don't much like "spamming", but I see that's what others are doing so I guess you kinda have to if you want anyone to notice the ad. I've got it at $750 OBO now. My real bottom line is $500. I was thinking of listing it at $600 OBO, but the last guy would have done $600 if his brother had a motorcycle license so I don't know if I'll ruin any chance of getting more out of it. I'm getting tired of bumping into it though, and have a feeling I'll be doing that for a while if I don't drop the initial price. Not even sure it's going anywhere if I do. Anyone ever try eBay for a scoot? I think I may have the same issues or just have to settle for a low price in an auction. Reserves and high starting bids never seem to work out well for me. I get so many more bids on most items I've sold with no reserve. You'd think serious buyers wouldn't care, but it seems like you need them to get hooked on bidding in many cases. I may end up with the same result there too. I did sell my car on eBay. The first time the buyer never paid or responded to any contact and I had to give them time to do so, so it set me back a while. The second time, a buyer came through and it wasn't a bad process.

You can just refresh on Craigslist to bring it back to the top. I don't like selling high dollar items on eBay, 10% to eBay then 2.9% to PayPal. I have sold expensive stuff on there but the fees are so much anymore.

Although most websites are showing this model as "Sold Out" . . $850-shipped is a valid representation for a NEW low-end 150. A used scooter is worth exactly what others are willing to pay and, as you have posted, it is a "buyers market" time of the year.

I don't know how busy it would be in other areas, but I've gotten some action from " OfferUp". The latest flip scoot I bought was from there. (I haven't started a thread for it yet). Lots of the usual shenanigans as Craigslist but maybe worth a shot. The downside is I'm not sure you can list from a PC. I think you can only list something via the app?

Everyone wants to haggle though, so it has to be listed higher. The offers I've had with a $750 OBO listing are $450-600, so right in the ballpark where I didn't have to do much negotiating. Who knows how many people may be scared off though, thinking I'm trying to sell a 10 year old scooter almost like it's new.

I just renewed the craigslist ad and changed it to $600 OBO. Let's see if that gets me anywhere.

No responses at all on this for 5 days after renewing and changing to $600OBO, then 2 at the same time. I was pretty much giving up and assuming I'd be draining the gas and waiting till people care about 2 wheelers here again in the Spring of 2017. One says they "want it immediately Tuesday". Today is Thursday, so that makes my brain hurt a little.
I feel like I must be the only person that's normally asleep at 3AM or somehow only people on night shift like this scooter. Other than the 1 person that actually showed up ready to buy (aside from not realizing a motorcycle endorsement is needed), all replies have been 2-5AM.
