So which forum member is playing this joke on you? I've been starting to think the same thing. Much like Lucass, it's hard to believe people are this lazy and crazy. It would need to be quite a few forum members to cover the calls and emails and texts though. Literally just got off the phone with a guy that wanted to first pay me $600 but owe me $100. Then he wanted it delivered over an hour away. Always a great idea to let a total stranger owe you money and to drive over an hour for delivery when no one to date has actually showed up when they said. Now he's looking for a ride and I told him I'd take $500. I figure within a month all of these people will borrow a truck, bum a ride, hitchhike, or Uber their way to the house at the exact same time. I'll have snake charmers and clowns... it'll be a literal circus and they'll fight to the death till only 1 remains to purchase the mighty Roketa. OK, I got carried away calling the Roketa mighty, but I think the rest may actually happen.

WHAT THE TURD IN HELL! Honestly I've never had issues like this from Craigslist either! Super weird. And how do you live your life if you can't even wake up. If he wants to come at such weird hours, tell him you need a deposit because you need to go to work and sitting around waiting for this retard isn't worth it. Come on people. I kinda wish Craigslist didn't have this "at your own risk" kinda thing. They should atleast protect buyers and sellers since there's scams from either side. BRENT, Where does it end.....!?! This is like the never ending story lol karma people , come on.

I say screw it. BID WAR ON THE FORUM. Start at the $21 dollars that eBay loser was suppose to pay.

I believed the guy from VA that's been messaging me since April 19th about it, till just now. He just told me he found out the van is out of commission so now he's working on figuring out a ride and if he can get it tagged same day to ride it home. I told him I don't know the laws so he's got to find that out for himself in his state.
I also told him the front brake feels soft so I don't know how well it stops. It was fine when parked, but I noticed that when I rode it when he wanted a video of it running with a date stamp the other day. Tried to bleed it and it won't firm up. Changed the caliper to one from T1 after seeing that the paint around the piston was bubbled like it leaked and it didn't help. Could replace the whole assy from master cylinder to caliper for under $100, but I can't even sell the scoot for $450 that this guy has offered, so I can't be putting another $50-100 into it. If he wanted to give it a van ride home, then I figured you're buying an 11 year old Chinese scooter for $450 so if the front brake work is the only issue you're doing pretty well. I didn't want to encourage him to ride it home on a highway figuring the front brake prob sucks though.
Anyway, this feels like BS now. It's been ridiculous at times along the way anyhow, but the van that he had all lined up last night/this morning and only didn't show because of oversleeping is suddenly out of commission today? That's either a hell of a coincidence or a bunch of bull. Not to mention suddenly asking me about ball pythons.
I'm seriously considering taking it off of craigslist and just sticking it in an eBay auction for whatever it goes for. Pretty sure it'd be next to nothing, but this stuff sucks and it's not just this one person. It's coming from multiple parties that don't follow through on anything they say.

I say screw it. BID WAR ON THE FORUM. Start at the $21 dollars that eBay loser was suppose to pay. That was for the parts. Those are sold to a forum member, as long as the eBay guy doesn't pay last minute while I'm required to wait for him. The scoot hasn't been on eBay, yet.

I will match up to 200 dollars in donations if people will donate to watch it burn, just because it's been such a thorn in your side.

I gotta be honest, I am enough of a scooter enthusiast that I would hate to see it burn. It's not great, but someone could get some use out of it. I think I'd rather take $250 for it than to have the full asking price to burn it. It's not actually the scooter that is ticking me off. I'd prob go through the same nonsense if I tried to sell my favorite scoot (T2). I think if I lived in say Baltimore where people actually ride scooters, it would be gone, but since I live in a corn field no one wants anything less than a Harley so everyone is 2 hours away from me with no ride even if they are serious.

I was thinking that aswell. Here, our Craigslist doesn't even have one scoot! If have to drive 2-3 hours plus a ferry ride. BUT if the deal is there and you can setup transportation then why not! I don't understand the point of contacting somebody if they arent serious to begin with. Are people really that naive?! God. I wonder if possibly you have a friend or family member closer to the city who would be willing to keep the scoot there. Then any replies you should tell them you need a set time and place. Atleast, it might be easier for people to come by and take a look? Maybe a for sale sign during the day? I wouldn't be surprised if someone who's never even ridden a scoot rides past and buys it off you! I guess some people are weighing out wether they think it's worth it or not. BUT STILL, WHY WASTE TIME

I was just talking to a friend that told me he went through the same thing selling his CBR 600 on our local craigslist. Same stuff. He had a guy go as far as to tell him he had rented a trailer and then tell him he was on his way to a spot where they agreed to meet and he wound up in a parking lot waiting for a no show. He ended up taking a beating and selling it to a dealer because he got so frustrated with people never coming through on anything.
He suggested sticking it on eBay as Buy It Now for 30 days or however long it can go if all else fails. A quick check shows that they go as long as 21 days and it would cost prob just over $100 if it sells; about $50 if it doesn't. That kinda rules out the taking a low price for it on eBay unless I truly just want it gone. I'd be better off sticking it in the yard cheap enough that someone just had to buy it if it gets that bad.

I'm probably doing the wrong thing financially, but I just ordered a whole front hydro assembly for $40 on eBay. Actually ordered 2, because the TaoTao now doesn't want to bleed out and I think the master cylinder is bad and it's caliper shows mild signs of leaking around the piston. It's seals aren't just o-rings so I couldn't do a real cheap fix. Looks like I should be able to make the dual piston caliper like the Roketa has fit on the TaoTao so I picked up 2. Worst case scenario, I'll have a spare front brake setup and it will likely fit T1/T2 which also have single piston.
Also ordered a header for $20 shipped. That should make it pretty much ready to inspect. It's also so I can keep the muffler that I built. Might try it on the TaoTao one day. The Roketa will still have a K&N filter so no proper PCV if that matters for emissions, but otherwise I think it would be good to go. I think it would pass and maybe that would help it sell, but I'm not putting another $80 into an inspection.
Prob all that will happen is I'll waste another $60 on parts and still have no one willing to buy it. I'm taking it off of craigslist till it's done so I don't have knuckleheads contacting me for no reason and I'll try a little simpler approach on the ad when it goes back up with a few less details. I'll try to anyway. lol

I think maybe you just need a simple ad "starts, drives runs, title in my name" also request a phone number for a response. If they can't read the ad and send a phone number they probably aren't interested anyway. I usually get better responses from those kind of ads then when I try listing everything.
