The dyno graphs arent really to show you peak power, but more to check if your powerband is nice and smooth. Especially on the 200, you don't really care about peak power but lots of torque.
If you want peaky power -> Expansion chamber
But to be fair, I really like the box exhausts.
SIP road 2.0 or XL is the way to go.
AM getting the Malossi 210 with a PHBH28 this winter, with my box, very excited!
The dyno app really is to check if everything is nice and smooth.

That's certainly becoming more and more clear to me as I'm finally logging some real riding hours on my P with it running right. How often will I really be doing 80 mph and 9k RPM? Great for bragging rights but the performance box exhausts seem like a no brainer now. I spent probably an hour last night browsing (studying!) the Pipe Design site (again). They have sooo many options to choose from and I love how they have all the great technical info and Dyno graphs. I wish more distributors would give the great info they do for exhausts like what port durations a certain exhausts performs best at etc. One of their dyno graphed setups is pretty similar to mine w/ a Polini 208 w/low port timings, rotary valved and is described as a "budget tune" haha. Which is true as most cylinders are twice the price of this one. Mine has a few more goodies than that setup, but it shown as 19hp. That Malossi MHR cylinder is a beast with a lot of their big reed valved setups w/ big carbs and stroker cranks showing 40 hp or more! I'm seriously considering throwing on my stock exhaust just to see what happens. I've never even tried it with my setup before. I think I'm also going to port my cylinder when I take it off to replace this piston. I'll bring the chord width out to 69% and raise the exhaust durations up to something like 180/185 or so. That should really wake it up! Still haven't decided on which box exhaust I'll go with. I like the S.I.P. XL but I think it'll be worth my time to at least get a quote from Pipe Designs also. They mention on their site that they use the stock Piaggio exhausts to build theirs and that their might be some kind of discount if you can send them your stock exhaust to build out? Like some kind of 'core charge'? lol.

Remember half of the work pipedesign does is hide tuning from the cops. Just ask Marco that you want a balls to the wall torque box exhaust, give him your setup and he will burn you one together
Where are you located again? If you wait til wknter i just send you mine and you try it although that seems... silly. You wouldnt ride it haha

Thanks niz!Ive got a grasp on the (mis)concept now,,the 1st half looks like a typical expansion chamber dumping into a glass packed box, then thru a baffle plate and out the tailpipe..Any idea on the tail pipe diameter?? Glass packed box deadens the wonderful 'ping-ping' sound.. It works by using the suction created by the difuser cone to expel the cylinder of the exhaust gasses better than the straight original pipe setup,,from there its all muffler!!

Makes sense! I read somewhere that the Yasuni R has such a great wide powerband because of the perforated cone inside. Supposedly the gasses flow through the cone at slower speeds and when they get moving fast enough they start to flow over the cone instead of through it, giving the cone essentially two different angles. Does that sound true? Don't know why I thought of that just now as there's no real deflector cone on these boxes haha. I love the ping ping sound of a nicely tuned *empty* expansion chamber myself! S.I.P. sells a chrome plated version of their 2.0 that's "tinnier" because it has no insulating material inside. " The chromed version is noisier as this exhaust system comes without insulating material. Unfortunately, insulating these exhausts is not possible as the fibres of the insulating material would pollute the chrome bath as well as soak. On the upside, you will be rewarded with classy chrome looks. The chrome version has a louder/tinnier sound, but this is compensated by a classy custom look." Of course there's the 'Sport' version also...

That scoot is so bad azz.
Not too big on racks though, of any kind. That's a personal thing though.

Awesome! One day I shall get one of these. Or a replica made by LML Thanks Sandstorm! The LML Stella's are nice scoots. Many folks just rebadge them with Vespa Badges. Their real nice because the engines are reed valved (mine is rotary valve which is bit of an outdated design that wastes a lot of fuel due to spitback etc. and not quite as responsive as reed valves) and they even come with front disk brakes. There's also a few other little creature comforts that the "P series" doesn't have such as electric start and a fuel gauge. These shifty vintage scoots sure are addicting. I almost feel kinda bad at how much I prefer to ride this scoot compared to my "twist n go"....
