190mechHey John! I was going to PM you, but I figured I'd just ask this here: Do you think you'd be able to build a pipe for me if I send you this cheapy expansion chamber pipe I bought? (Of course I'll supply any pertinent RPM/duration data also). I just couldn't think of any other way to get the mounting/size dimensions right- where the brackets line up etc, without having the whole scoot right in front of you than to just buy one that fits and send it to you... The stock pipe isn't really much help with knowing where the stinger/silencer exits and the clearance and angles etc. I know shipping might be a bit much back and forth so I was thinking about building one of my cardstock replicas to exact size with all the mounting details included so you'd know for sure that it'll bolt right up. Think that would work? Let me know what you think because I plan on keeping and enjoying this scoot for myself and would be very happy to be able to boast a custom Peace Pipe on it! Can we crack this nut?!?

Heck!I'll give it a go!!Gotta remember a big/slow turning motor needs a long pipe,,how many times will we need to wrap it around the scoot??Ha-Ha!!Play around with the desired specs on this calculator; www.underdogsracing.com/fospipe/Using an existing after market pipe for a jig is a great idea, waaay cheaper to ship than the whole scoot..If room allows, perhaps a Penton style muffler too??

Oh jeez! Just bumped this build up a notch in excitement with a custom pipe from 190mech! Careful, your mailbox will be getting filled with envelopes full of cut up poster board... *wink wink*

Lucass,The calculator I posted is a very recent calculation by Frits,,he does not approve the 'underdogracing' calculator though,he has only supplied the actual mathamatical formula.I have used both methods and the answer is the same..His formula is also only for the simple"2 stage" pipe,,the others were added by the underdog guys..

I've been making progress and taking lots of pics as I go. I have something like 36 pics taken! lol. Getting the cases all ported up... The directions that Polini gives are a bit sparse to say the least. Luckily, this has been done a bazillion times and pretty well documented on the 'net! So very helpful:

Keeping those other 32 pictures to yourself? Seems stingy Lol Spaz. I'm trying my best to supress and somewhat mask my scoot obsession from the wifey. That means I have to have to take periodic breaks from the garage and computer to do stuff like yard work, helping with the house cleaning etc. All the while itching to get back to the scoot! haha More pics and updates to come... when I sneak back to the garage

Porting is done and I've got the cases as about as clean as I can possibly get them without a sandblaster... Now the fun part can begin- Reassembly!

Holy geez boys all hell broke loose here! Everything was going swimmingly until I realized I installed the crank and hadn't put the damn flywheel race on the crank... Grrr...Way more frustrating than a Mina!!
In a mad rush to get the crank cold and race hot it got stuck and the heat gun ignited the freeze spray liquid and I had a fire and I mighta totally F'd this crank by beating the race on with a scrap piece of square stock with the web only supported by a plastic toothbrush hammered in there all in a panic ...
