First problem i met was the cylinder. If you go with a BBK bigger then 155cc, you will have to bore the case. Mine is 170cc so it did not fit. After checking online for a boring tool (about $150 us) I took out my mighty Dremel and proceeded to bore my case. It's almost done now, just need to tweak it a bit so the cylinder sits proberly. I'll post pictures of the final results when i'm done "boring" it. Before: After: THE MIGHTY DREMEL!!!

I finally had a little time today to fiddle around my ride. I installed the and gaped the rings on the piston. The top ring is set to .009 and the lower ring at .012. the calculator found here was used to do all the nose bleeding calculation.

Worked on it some more. Got the engine all mounted and the gear pressed, so its pretty much all zipped up. The engine. The cam chain is a pretty tight fit but a longer chain is not needed. In fact the cam chain tensioner could be swaped with just a hand made cover of some kind, but i installed it anyway. The cylinder's got 2 good and thick "paper" gasket and the head has 2 of those metallic ones. The stock starter can barely get the engine over the TDC point. I got the compression at 195 psi, Its a bit high but i will retest it one the new reinforced starter comes in on Monday. If the compression is still a bit too high, i got a third set of gasket just in case. Without the spark plug in, it turns like a charm, and without the valve cover on, i get a nice mess of oil splashing everywhere. The gears. I manage to get the old one separated but could not get the new ones pressed by myself. I went to a garage next to where i work and had them pressed. I hate messing around in the gear box mostly because of the smell of the gear oil. Except for the little details like the tighter cam chain and the extra gasket, it mostly went just like any top end/ crank shaft replacement. Next will be the variator and the clutch. Enough babbling, its picture time!!!! I dont know what's more annoying, having big pictures in long post then to have to scroll back up, or thumbs and to close every windows that pops open when you click the pictures. So im gonna let the lazy me choose: Here's the link to the album in my bucket. s1243.photobucket.com/user/Kata_Stroff/library/bbk%20175?sort=3&page=1
