Mine was a Tao Tao Duster at one point. I used part of the leg shield where the little cubby was to cover my wires up the frame by cutting it out and flipping it forward. By all means, do something better looking lol. Same with my blinkers, cut stuff, used sheet rock hanging screw things to hold the front signals to the piece I left to protect from debris. Again, do something better looking than me!

Keeping this upper front guard to protect the main parts, sanding and repaint green today. Will bogde the lights in their also somewhere haha, maybe look into LED stubby blinkers should be fun. Haha if it works use it man! We all have a picture in our head of what we want but it never ends the same way haha i hoped for no rust jeez i was wrong even my shocks are rocking marks But do whats needed to make it look our way thats the thing about scoots reliability and the custom ability.

Daily dose of Updates : After looking into relocating the headlight it looks like ill be buying a aftermarket light unit (LED) Is the whole wiring harness in the head unit part needed? If so what can be taken away could i solder and reduce wires? Also what type of speedo is recommended? As mines obviously the Chinese one and as i know from experience its out be 5-6mph and its hella ugly (photos attached) Also have afew wires laying around in bike not even plugged? Mind blower these Chinese builders. Apart from that its all dandy! Been out today to catch 30-45 minutes riding gets alot of turns (probably think its stolen) But alot of other scooter guys pulled beside and liked the idea. Apart from headunit area i have a new New idea. Cut the old bracket out for the bucket and slam the seat 2.3" above the carb as i dont like the hight and it'll look cooler in my head lol. Also does anyone have a aftermarket rear end i could see pref a custom one. I want to make a single bracket plate holder which includes back lighting (brakes + blinkers)

After looking into relocating the headlight it looks like ill be buying a aftermarket light unit (LED) Is the whole wiring harness in the head unit part needed? If so what can be taken away could i solder and reduce wires? I can't tell you exactly what can go, but you can definitely loose some wires if you aren't using the stock gauges or any aftermarket gauge that needs their power or inputs. Look around, trace stuff out. Also what type of speedo is recommended? As mines obviously the Chinese one and as i know from experience its out be 5-6mph and its hella ugly Depends what you want or need and what your budget is. Trail Tech Vapor is really nice IMO and Stage 6 Makes a multifunction gauge as well. You can find gauges on eBay for roughly $50 that do speed, RPM, and maybe some other functions. Some bicycle speedometers work well. I've had great results using Sigma bicycle speedometers that cost about $20. I used to use those with a Trail Tech TTO tach for about $50 combined and had reliable and accurate speed and RPM, but no kind of backlight. I'd probably consider the Chinese combo gauges though if needing speed and RPM both, since you should be able to get backlit setups possibly with other features for a similar price and some other members have had luck with them. Also have afew wires laying around in bike not even plugged? Mind blower these Chinese builders. Not at all uncommon. I think harnesses can be multi-purpose... used for different scoots or maybe different trim levels. Maybe a coil sits 10" back in one scoot or some scoots use a kickstand switch and some don't so there are extra connections where those things could go. I had 2 bare ended wires in my harness that I cut out. Looking at the wire colors and seeing what other components have the same colors may give you a clue what they're for. Also does anyone have a aftermarket rear end i could see pref a custom one. I want to make a single bracket plate holder which includes back lighting (brakes + blinkers) Mine aren't aftermarket panels, I just fabbed them from aluminum or steel. Not necessarily the prettiest, but they are reliable and bright. I don't have tag lighting because these scoots aren't required to, but that's easy enough to add. You can buy tag bolts that have lights built in if you don't find a better solution. Here's a pic of one and a link to another from when I was making it for my TaoTao. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/post/152371/thread

I was gonna lower my seat too, but never did. Now that I'm getting a welder it may get a custom seat with no bucket.

Yours is what i like! Simple and looks real good also!. I'll have to have a look about at speedos as i am willing to spend, 200-300 on my beloved, As this "taotao" looks like my dobalganger can i buy parts from one and transfer? triesandluthI just need to find a way first which will allow good air flow and no course drag or to much down pressure

, As this "taotao" looks like my dobalganger can i buy parts from one and transfer? Most parts should transfer. Generically, these are often called "sunny" style scooters. So many brands have scoots like them. Lots of scoots are manufactured by the same factories and rebranded a bunch of times. There may be some differences, so look anything you're considering over well, but I think most will transfer.

I took ALL of the plastic off of my ETon Beamer. I then decided that the wires were ugly so moved EVERYTHING to the seat bucket. I then drilled holes just big enough for each wire to go through. Then sealed each hole with silicone. I still have absolutely no lights on it, I hope to get around to that soon health willing. I can try to post a few pics tomorrow maybe???
