I think they look cool with the plastics on, nothing like seeing a classic style scoot shredding.

90Gtvert - does this need to go to the "builds" section? Doesn't have to. I like to use the builds area for projects that are gonna be around for a while, and will receive updates. Hopefully this one will fit in there, so I'm just gonna move it now. ;D I'm looking forward to seeing what you've done with the panels.

Well, the side cowl's are painted flat black, The legsheild I panted flat black, The front fender is flat black, The floor board I painted flat black, The rear fender / tail piece I painted flat black, But the oil tank door I didn't paint because I don't have one. . . .  I am kicking around some ideas for race numbers and rally stripes but who knows what I'll end up with. (Thanks for the thread move.)

Where are the stripes and numbers? Hows does it run? Starting to look good Ben. Well, the livery is in prototype stage at this point but here are a few of the ideas I've been kicking about... (I sure hope I'm better at scooter tuning than I am at MS Paint. ) Stripes and numbers bleh by benandangie, on Flickr Total badassery brutal by benandangie, on Flickr As far as how it runs, well it starts on the first kick and idles like a dream. I haven't really done much tuning yet. I was running it with the stock jet (70) and the needle set 2 notches richer. One the one and only ride I took (maybe 500 feet) it has no acceleration to speak of and starts to get weak around 8mph, top speed maybe 10mph. I replaced the main jet with one I had drilled out to 0.041 (#59) and it seems to be running a lot stronger but I haven't had it off of the bench like that yet. It does seem to get weaker and sputterier at higher RPM's but I'm not sure if it's rev limited or if it's a fuel / air problem yet. It is obviously much richer because I'm getting more smoke and milky oil out of the tip of the exhaust. I need to buy some jets. I also need to figure out if the auto choke is working. I've removed the battery, the ignition switch and the alarm / immobilizer box thing. It does seem to idle down after a minute or so but I need to get in there with a meter. ( The handlebar kill switch still works.) As always, photo updates are at ---> www.flickr.com/photos/lagerhead/sets/72157626008239464/with/5554589780/

Looks good. I suspect it may be rich now, probably not rev limited. A 104 is quite large.
