Working on putting up shelves, cutting wood and a major tidy up on Paula's shed and moving her work bench over. That's a proper shed. 👌

Today I worked on getting engaged. Today was public announcement day. Don’t worry, my scooter life is intact, she’s the one who went with me to pick it up when I began this scooter life.

Congratulations!
I worked on tracing some lighting circuits so I can install another light in my basement stairwell.
I also found some ceiling joists to install a horrible freight hand winch at the top of the stairs. I am using a worm drive winch so I can winch some heavy steel cabinets and other items out of the basement. The winch is set up to drive with an electric drill. I only have a weak mind and a weak back at my age.

You are lucky. In my city a house can have only one shed and one backyard garage. They both have a max size and you have to get a permit to put them up with approved plans that meet building codes. They also have to be at least a certain distance from lot lines and the house. Electrical and water service must be to code. Any connections to sewers or drains have to be to code. Everything must be inspected by city code officers. It gets damn expensive.
My new light is to code. At least I did not have to have that inspected. The winch would never pass code.

The family car failed it,s mot it needs a CV joint which I picked up and started to dismantle the assembly, dang it the track rod end but has snapped the torks bit I used to hold it so I will end up cutting it off! There two 20mm bolts to undo or separate the ball joint under the hub,I may have to call for back up .but will get it done hook or by crook. Geoff A mate of mine put his shed on rails and castors a dodged a lot of taxes/local code requirements but it,s a "grey " area and Milly lives in the outback probably never heard of planning permission.

I didn't think there is any real "outback" as in Australia anywhere around the UK, just too many people crammed on a few islands. My bucket list includes a trip 'Home' to Scotland and I hear that area may be an 'outback' of sorts with very few people, only sheep Being able to afford it and the covid + WWIII etc. makes my bucket list highly improbable. My son visited a few years ago and was only able to get close to our homeland. A 4WD, camping, and hiking or a very $$$$ tour boat ride would have been required to get there. He did bring back a small stone from the homeland he obtained from a local castle. He had difficulty getting it through customs... I keep it in a leather pouch to carry in my pocket sometimes. It is hanging by my computer monitor now.

When my dad did the garage and put an extra room above it. You have to have off street parking for a car for every bedroom in your house. Yet my brother moved into a new build apartment a couple of years ago. Not even enough parking for all of the apartments to park one car! Got to love the government. 😬

Hmmm, I don't know if ear protection is required for an electric chainsaw.... May be it is to ignore more 'instructions'.
