We have all the other scooter related "what did you" topics so I thought this one would be fun. Let's see what you did/ worked on. Doesn't matter if it's yard work, a new deck or what you did at your job. What did you work on? As some of you may know I work on standby back up generators. Everything from stuff in rv vehicles to units that back up hospitals. Today was just a little 100 quart oil change on a 750kw, 2000 amp service. What's that mean? I love loud low rpm diesels, V12 - 1200hp @ 1800 rpm! Just another day at work.

Worked on a mosquito trap, some small 1/4HP 12VDC motors, and a small cargo restraint/partition for my van. It has been raining all day like a cow pissing on a flat rock at times so I checked for roof leaks, found one. Will get hammered bad here in KC again in about an hour.
The biggest UPS system I have ever worked on was only 100A at 120VAC backed up by a natural gas fueled 300cubic inch ford straight six.
Where can we get that diesel sized for our scoots?

I think you would need to built the scoot to suit the engine not just make the engine fit.

Some rough cleanup of the treeline/swampy area. Plowing down stuff with the mower and trying not to get stuck was fun. I beat that old mower. I think I'd kill the newer one if I treated it the same. Need to get out there and trim limbs there and behind the house so they don't hit me when I'm cutting grass.

Working on a few mowers this week. Rebuilt and put a new crank in a 173cc Cub Cadet self propelled push mower, installed a new con rod in a 148cc Craftsman push mower, an am getting ready to work on another 148cc WeedEater brand push mower, think the head gasket is bad on that one. Then I have two older Toro Z max mowers, one with a bad drive axle, and one that's got a terrible knock in the engine, think its the con rod for the left cylinder, don't know yet. And all of this with one and a half hands. Getting a bit more strength in my right hand, but its still clumsy and kind a weak.

Had some hearings, tried to straighten out an errant paralegal, did some research on bankruptcy laws, drafted some stuff. Not a bad Friday.

Had to go pick my mom and her husband up down the road because they had a blowout on their scoot. Then the truck kept shutting off cause the alternator isn't charging so now I gotta fix that and get a tire put on their scooter

Gotta tear down the Cub Cadet engine again, I ordered the correct crank, and got what I ordered, but some how the con rod large end is sloppy as hell, and the thing sounds like a washing machine full of gravel.
Checked e Z Max out, the one that does move has a wasted engine, not sure how, but one of the con rods has snapped, not just straight across, but it has split up the middle as well. Never seen anything like that. Owner wanted me to build one out other two anyway so, guess I can, but I was hoping t find an easy fix for it. Too many projects, not enough dexterity.

Been working on my van's carburetor, choke is taking way too long to turn off and it's been blowing a mist of raw gas out the pipe until the temp gets up.
Also changed the starter cord and blades on one of my mowers.

Oh nice thread ryan_ott today I worked on my comfort level with the balance point while doing wheelies on my "Zog". Yesterday I worked on my newly acquired truck. After my diagnosis I came to the conclusion that the speedometer not working was due to a faulty speedometer itself. So I did a cluster swap with a 4runner cluster The old one is on top the 4runner cluster is on the bottom. In addition to speedo, temp, and fuel guages, it has a tach, volt meter and oil pressure guage. heres how it looks now

A friend charged the AC in my van, my hands are useless. The high pressure port leaks. It seems to be some GM bastardized check valve instead of a standard Schrader valve port. It can't be replaced with a standard pressurized system valve core replacement tool. The entire system must be emptied, high side fitting replaced (it is available as a service item), then pumped down and refilled. I may just try to make a very short threaded bolt and see if a copper crush washer will work as a seal. The standard high side plastic cap will not seal against the pressure.
I Found that the driver side rear door will not open. It feels like it is locked. It worked fine a few days ago.
There is always something wrong with vehicles of any kind or brand, old or new. Many parts are made by the lowest price bidder in China. Don't even talk to me about the parts or systems with just a POS design...
EDIT: I found some metal seal caps at AliExpress. I will see if they fit etc. I am surprised nobody makes a replacement/repair port that uses a standard Schrader valve that threads into the leaking port possibly with a retainer clip that mates with the existing outer quick release. The leaking ball valve port seems to be a very common problem. It seals once then has to be replaced. Another POS design, -just like the Ford AC quick connects...
