Hey, Taobit. If you spray air into the exhaust port on a laptop you are just moving the dust that was collected on the heatsink fins back into the laptop. Spray through the inlet duct next time. I have had to fix overheated laptops several times because of the owners doing the exact thing you described. Just a tip to hopefully save a few future headaches.
Also, had to work on my dads boat a little today. We got caught on the lake during a bad storm that rolled in right as we were heading back to the ramp. We got the trailer in and then the storm hit so hard we had to hold the boat off of the back of the truck. I fought 3ft swells and 70mph winds for 45 minutes. The boat ground against the ramp so many times it wore a few long holes in the bottom of it. The boat sank on the ramp but we managed to get it back on the trailer with the help of a few good ole' boys. Mother nature sucks...

Having a boat near shore is always bad news in a storm. There is a good reason sailors feared a lee shore.

It kept my old man (70) from drowning or dying in general so I'll take me getting a beating over him being dead any day of the week.
But you have to love the fact that the 25hp 2stroke mercury could more than keep up with the weather. I had just finished tuning it proper 10 minutes prior.

Your dad is lucky to have a son like you. My two kids don't give a crap about me.
I finally got my home AC unit running today. It was getting too hot in the house for this old man. The Grainger brush item #36XD23, cut down and held in a long 1/4" drill bit extension, worked great for cleaning the inside of the A-coil. It seems to be functioning OK. It will take a while to draw off the humidity and moisture in the house before the temperature starts dropping.

98% complete, just a few trim pieces and my runts can move in. I'm some where around 80 hours mostly single handed building this, after work, weekends (except last I got sniped) any chance I get. I'm done. Hope the kids realize what it takes.

After working on my scoot, I drove my friend around to look at used cars. When I got home, I cut the grass.

This is no kit. I built it to last for sure. I went a tad over budget with hardware but I think it turned out pretty good. Hopefully they don't destroy it to quick.

You did a damn nice job and unless you got yourself some little Hercules I'd think it'll last a really long time. Makes me wish my kids were still young. for about 30 seconds and then the moment passes

What can I say I'm a cheap ass I do any work needed myself. I don't pay for repairs. Taught myself some skills along the way. During this project I looked at my hammer and remembered all we have been through.

I am adding another floor register vent to my AC system. It has taken me a week and I am still not finished. I figure another few days. I work on it until I get too frustrated with my hands shaking. Then wait a few hours and try again.
I still have two toilet fill valves to replace. I really hate plumbing. I have many more things to do including working on my scoot.
I used to do all my repairs myself but I am falling behind. I have paid to have my gutters cleaned. I may have to figure out a way to pay someone for more things. I really hate that.

Was the CCM in a flood?
Acetone or MEK may clean it. Make sure the conformal coating is not dissolved away. Spray cans of conformal coating are available at industrial electronic supply stores. Electronic Supply in KC MO sells it. They can ship it also.

LOL yeah, one step ahead of you sprayed it down with electronics cleaner and prepping to seal the " water proof case " that is sits in which isnt that water proof . and need to rewire some body harness wires that go to the module since they are severed. fun stuff then to recode the TPS. Fun stuff in my near future.

Automotive electronics suck so bad. It is a crap environment to work in. Same as putting a uP in washing machines, refrigerators, etc. Moisture, chemical vapors, salt, etc, are hell on components and connections. It seems like most cars and other things fail due to corrosion in the electrical/electronics.
You have more knowledge about automotive systems than I have. My knowledge is not up to date at all. I know how and why the systems work but no specific model knowledge. I worked with computers, uP, industrial, automotive, military, and aerospace systems for years. Automotive and industrial environments are bad but military and aerospace are even worse. I was making computers in my garage back at the same time Bill Gates was. He just got lucky due to some insider trading etc. I don't do much electronic work anymore. My hands shake so bad and due to some silent strokes I had to give up years ago.
On the other hand I did finish my office AC vent today and did a little AC system tuning, changing vent openings etc. It takes a long time when shaky hands drop and mangle everything.
