Its 6:00 am here at the moment and i'm getting ready to leave for a nice long trip to god knows where. I'm finally on vacation for the next 2 weeks and gonna take some time to burn some petrol. Before i leave i wanted to post about the last trip i took, it was just an overbight thing but i had fun... mostly. Here we go!!! I took all of the little back road i could enjoying the scenery for a little bit more then 200 km. Found myself a nice camping ground and spent the night there. I came back the next morning by some other little back roads. Since i dont really carry much stuff, supper was good, but the sleeping part was not so great. The temperature fell to about 13c during the night and i woke up shivering and the cold kept me from sleeping for most of the night. Over all it was a nice scamping trip, but it was my last. At 51, i'm done sleeping on the ground in a tent barely big enough for me. From now on it will be hotels and motels. Coffee time !!! And dessert. Road trips are great, but nothing can compare to these:

I keep saying I'll take some overnight trips, but never do it. Glad you're taking your trips, be it in tents or hotel rooms, and hope you have a good time on your upcoming gas-powered adventures.

Don't forget, though, that an air mattress and a bottle to pee in can make a tent a much, much more inviting sleeping experience. Don't give up on it yet.

Love camping, but haven't done it in a while and the last time I did go, ended up sleeping in the car because the ground was to hard, and too many rocks poking me. Despite that, I enjoyed it immensely.

Good that you're going to carry on with the trips. From your previous trips it looks like it is the journey that is important, not so much the camping. If you get a nice shower at the end and a warm bed all the better I say

Awesome! I am thinking of trying that this summer. When I looked into it a bit last winter, I noticed that all of the campgrounds within my "range" are like $50/night! I am going to have to find a wilderness place for free or something a lot more reasonable as that is a lot of money to me. I am now inspired to look into it deeper after reading your post. The fall here is a great time for camping/scamping.

I do a lot of backcountry camping hiking. Check out a good hammock loke the skeeterbeater, doesnt weigh anything and your back actually feels great when yoi get up. I have back issues and a hammock is the shit. Caution, if you go spme place cold better take a yoga mat to stick in tjere or your ass will freeze

I'm interested in what looks like to be a spare motorcycle gas tank strapped on. Just strapped on with a Y in the fuel line?
