I've looked into different street pipes, from what I can find they're all pretty equal with minor differences in operating RPM, cost and noise level's.

OK fella's, does anyone know what the full final drive ratio is on the triton R4 at the output shaft in high range with stock gears ?
we've seen the 90's and 100's at about 10:1 so i'm guessing it's more like 12:1
does anyone know what up gears fit in the vento case ?
if i find the right combo to back it up i've found a 16" 50cc scooter wheel that will fit and make a few things simpler.
thanks, steve

WOW Brent, you the man. thanks
interesting to see the '05 triton at 10.3:1, wonder if the '06 is similar ?
the polaris at 8.83 :1, a very good number for me. : ))
things are looking up, there may still have to be some changes in displacement but i think i see a plan coming together.
thanks, steve

The short case and long case use different gears and the Polaris is a short case. There are probably some long gears like that out there for the long case too though.

wellllllll...................... it seems somebody took a gear set like that out of a project engine and may still have them, possibly even for sale.
anddddd / orrrrr........................ that person might still have the sprocket drive parts removed from that same engine and those might be available too.

IF I have the sprocket/bracket (not sure now, I might have been dumb enough to turn em in for scrap ) I'm keeping them. I have the idea of a trike in my head. Not sure when or if it will actually happen, but maybe. My father has been having a lot of trouble with diabetes and he's scared to ride in case his blood sugar drops and he gets light headed. I figured if it continues maybe he would ride a trike if I could figure out how to get one together. At least he wouldn't tip over. Wouldn't really be any worse than him driving. I want the gears too, sorry. I need them for another motor at this point and I don't know what I'll need if I do the trike. I know that the kart axles were common with large sprockets, so long gears may be good to have. Not really sure. Sorry, I just don't wanna get rid of things I might need. You can pick this stuff up on eBay pretty cheap if you spend some time on it. I know I've seen the sprocket and bracket for the rear go for next to nothing. The gears are just stock parts to the ATV crowd, so they go cheap often as well. Gotta catch auctions and not Buy It Now though. Like the gear sets are on there for $80 BIN right now, but you could probably get em for less than half that on an auction. Always and option to look for a whole motor. If you can luck out and catch one like me for cheap then you'll get all the parts already in an engine that is 90cc. Also, the 50-70cc ATVs use the same stuff so seach for kasea, eton, polaris, etc... 50 70 90.

sorry to hear your Dad is having increasing health issues. i'd have to think that if he had an episode while driving a car he'd have better chances than if he was on any type of scooter.
in ou rmarket around here we have guys selling what's called "ice bear" trikes in the "delta" ( 2 back wheels ) lay out.you might be able to find enough online images to work from.
ok then, it's time to put up some ebay searchs.
thanks, steve

Thanks. I'm hoping he gets straightened out and will just ride a scooter again at some point. A trike is the only thing I could think of that might help him feel a little more safe if he rides at all.

22.5" rear tire with 8.83 gearing =50mph @ 6600rpm, 10.3 gearing = 50mph @ 7700rpm.
while i'm certain the BEST 50cc sport cylinder and street pipe will pull my streamliner off the line and up to 50mph on 10.3 gearing the question remains will it do it on 8.83 gearing ?
i had a reply from pedparts today about the pipe comparo on 70cc kits, it seems that the Yansuni R STOMPED all others in all ranges coupled to very good 70cc sport cyclinders.
more later, steve

8.83 is really tall for a scoot. It's tall for a 90cc. It's crazy for a 50cc. 8.83 would only be good if you are using a big rear sprocket to change the ratio IMO.

do you mean running 8.83 gearing to the putput shaft and changing it back toward 10.3 ( or further ) with sprockets, or tire diameters ?
i could understand that, since it would leave room for future power upgrades : ))
but i would be more inclined to just go with the 10.3, see what i get and make adjustments with sprockets, or tire diameters, either way from there.
thanks, steve

I figured they were probably like my Phongeer pipe. Looks about the same. It's quiet.
