yeah, i guess i heard wrong on the sound. i just read a thread on this pipe on another forum where it was suggested to be equal to the PG power pipe.
appearantly you have to be careful with your supplier not to get one for the 90-100's. i guess there's one for the 50-70's that's well though of.
in view of next to no availability of the other pipes i liked looks like this is it for me.
thanks steve

well guys the game may have changed. when i first started this project i was looking to use the aprilia sr 50 ditech for power, they turned out to be harder to find than i hoped.
after waiting in the weeds for over a year i've just gotten a positive reply from a guy selling a complete unit with the full Highgain Tuning 70cc upgrade package.
while i'll sure see what it does in that configuration !! i'll likely put it back to stock since my interests are max mpg. i'll then sell the upgrades and the whole rest of the frame, plastics etc, etc.
patience has been a real virtue on this project and it looks like it may be about to fall together.
thanks, steve

Mine has been since sold to shakerdriver John. However i think he is selling, or may be interested in selling something motor wise.?
Sounds like a plan! You cant beat the DiTech for decent power and over 100MPG!

thanks for the heads up Robert.
i'd love to get ahold of a ditech for this project but i'm not convinced it's going to happen.
i talked to this guy by phone some today and his HGT regulator is broken, new one on order, so it won't currently start and run. new regulator will be in the next few days.
6000+ mls. w/ 100 mls. on rebuild.
sounds young and flighty, wants to sell for cash for a ruckus project.
i'm going to go see it tomorrow.
while i'm waiting i'm still looking at Min. AC parts.
WHY does it seem that it's impossible to get a 50cc sport cylinder w/ 12mm pin in the U.S. or a top quality 50cc unrestricted replacement cylinder ??
thanks, steve

ok then
i stopped by to check out the sr50 in person today. walking in to his garage was eerily familiar.
this guy is a total gear head, cars, motorcycles, scooters, lawnmowers, power skateboards, the works !!
the aprillia has been through 3 people before him the last a 14 yr. old so there was a few minor marks and scrapes, nothing to queer the deal.
this drivetrain was removed from the bike, including the CPU ( for reprograming ) and all sent to Rich at High Gain Tuning out in Colorado for the installation of the 70cc Malossi cylinder and ALL the tid bits.
that's, LV ZX-R pipe, malossi variator, air cleaner, malossi reed block , malossi up gears, 3* advanced timing key, HGT adjustable regulator, 3" stretch kit, all new hoses, new temp sensor, side stand, etc etc.
it still needs an air gauge for the regulator, after it's in and on this next week he's going to call me. at that point if it runs and rides acceptably it's mine.
if that doesn't happen i'll be going forward with an AC'd 50cc set up of some kind.
either way, i'd love the opportunity to continue discussing this project here.
thanks, steve

well the project is moving forward.
i did buy the '03 SR50 Ditech. pretty cool little critter i must say.
got a fully functioning scoot w/ 70cc bbk, malossi VL12 reeds, malossi multivar,7gr. rollers, stock clutch green springs, red contra ( for now ) 3* advance woodruf key, HGT adjustable fuel regulator, Malossi up gears, water trap, LV ZX-R pipe ( 200 mls. ) new fuel pump, new temp. sensor, new TPS, Marchald foam air cleaner. 2 extra variators, proprietary tools, side stand kit, extra LV TT handmade pipe ( low miles ) all for $1000.00
so far it's a real hoot. these seem to be good for about 112 mpg in stock trim, this one is going right at 90 mpg.
will likely ride it this way this year and build it back down to 50cc for my hyper miler streamliner project.
thanks, steve

Heck of a deal. Congrats on that. 90MPG with a performance 70cc 2T may not be what you're after, but it's sure nothing to sneeze at!

believe me i'm not complaining one bit on ANY part of this deal. i feel very blessed indeed.
i may install it as is in the streamliner and see how that goes, THEN decide if i'm going any further with it.
thanks, steve

That could give you some interesting results. See how lower throttle positions from increased torque may compare with a stock bore 49cc for fuel economy.
