I thought it may be helpful if we list personal experiences with products from Harbor Freight Tools, since they are known to be hit or miss. What works fine or great for you that you'd buy again or recommend? What didn't work or didn't work well that you would not buy again or recommend? A little bit of detail explaining why would be helpful. I'll start it off with a few from my experiences.
Would Buy Again
9pc Metric Wrench Set : There was a small set of metric wrenches from 8-17mm on sale for $6. I have a better and more complete set of wrenches, but they are nice to have around in case I need a second wrench of the same size. I've been using the same ones for a few years now.
10pc Bearing Race & Seal Driver Kit : Simple tool that does the job. Used for roughly 5 years without issue.
Blind Hole Bearing Puller Set : I don't see this one on their site anymore, but it's been a decent kit for the money. I'm not saying it's high quality, but it's got the job done many times. My biggest complaint is probably just that it doesn't fit into very small bearings.
2.5L Ultrasonic Cleaner : I had my doubts, but it works. I use it regularly to clean carbs. One of my first uses was a weedeater carb that I cleaned a couple of times the more traditional way and it still wouldn't work right. I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner for multiple cycles with heated water and a degreaser and it got the carb functioning again. It doesn't usually work any miracles, but it saves time cleaning to toss parts in while I do something else.
27 LED Portable Work Light : You can often get these free with orders over a certain amount using a coupon, and they are quite bright and have been pretty durable for me.
Chicago Electric Welding Cart : It's a cart, so there's nothing complicated about it, but it does the job and has plenty of room for welding supplies. You can get them pretty cheap with coupons at times.
6ft x 8ft Fiberglass Welding Blanket : It's protected anything I've put it over so far, and it was a good price, so no complaints from me.
Ratchet Straps : They go on sale very cheap and they work fine for what I use them for (tying down scooters and relatively light duty tasks).
Would Not Buy Again
Chicogo Electric Drill : I don't see the same one listed on their site now, but the one I bought failed almost immediately. It wasn't cheap enough to be worth the risk of a bad unit on another purchase and for me a store is an hour away. Since then, I have bought manufacturer refurbished quality drills or caught sales and wound up with better drills for similar money.
3/8" Click Style Torque Wrench : Total junk. I'd much sooner guess than to trust the one I had. The only thing it was good for was scrap metal IMO.
