Has anyone used the many stop leak products out there for oil leaks in 139qmb engines? Do they work?

where is it leaking from? I wouldn't recommend anything other than fixing the leak properly

It WAS leaking from the valve cover but I think I fixed that. There are still leaks...albeit less than before. So now I'm thinking oil seals. Then again 99% of my hypothesis have been wrong.

Using synthetic oil MAY be a contributing factor. "But while synthetic oil won't create a leak, it will find one. Its streamlined molecular structure has no mercy for cracked or otherwise marginal seals." . . sourceConventional Delo 15W-40 has high amounts of Zinc and Boron.

I'm not using synthetic. It all started with a 47mm bbk install. It ran great but leaked. I put in a big head and it won't start. Weak compression I guess. I don't have a tester. The valves are checked and double checked

23mm big valve heads lower the compression too much.
The gasket against the crankcase is often the cause of leaks. Did you make sure to install the steel alignment sleeves in the correct places?

Yep. Several times. I find it strange that the 2 that are near the cylinder are on the same side....unless I have that wrong and that's what is causing my issue in the first place

have you pulled the engine from the frame and taken off the cooling shrouds? that should make it easy to see where the leak is coming from.
I know that seems like a lot of work, but the more you do it, the better you get to know your scooter, and the less of a pain in the ass it becomes.

I took it all off and went back to the stock head and cylinder. Back to 49cc. The leak started when I installed the bbk. Now it's leaking somewhere else. The drip is showing up by the center stand now.

The drip is showing up by the center stand now. Take a look at the videos on engine building. I think your leaking issues are coming from where you're putting the barrel sleeves and it's probably damaging the gasket(s) Plus, you'll damage the engine from oil starvation. Watch the video.... Go slo on the top end assembly bro

I'm getting conflicting info. If you watch this video at 13:12 he says the pins are on the same side, youtu.be/YJlHkSpIBQQBut this photo tells me otherwise I'm not sure which is right

Looks like I am tearing down my engine again. Hopefully for the last time.
I'm getting pretty good at it.
