Can you post a pic of your float/ needle setup. Your needle should have a clip built into it that attaches to the float. Unless it's the other style where it has a spring "plunger" if you want to call it that.

I just want to make sure you have the correct type since you have pieced this together. Here are some examples Notice the small spring on the white float. screen shot on pcthe needle you have thats on the black float, second picture

If it is, you might be able to figure something out with 20gauge wire and solder. Just an idea if that's your issue. I mean you could try that just until you order a new needle / kit. Atleast if you order the kit you'll get everything else too for spare.

Righto - its a mikuni vm22 carb - with a round bowl similar to a pz19j. I'll snap pics tonight. At work again this afternoon. I do have tomorrow off to get more stuff done!

Still having problems, but at least have it narrowed down to keeping the bowl full.
Fuel delivery through the whole line. This end connects to the carb.
Now hooked up to the carb and checking flow through the float valve.
I am gonna order a new carb. A rebuild kit costs the same as a new carb at this point, so i'm gonna retire this one. Gettin rather bummed, i just wanna scoot...

Found some info on polishing an inlet valve seat to temporarily fix a needle stuck closed issue. If i get a chance, i'll give it a try tomorrow morning and post an update video on how it flows. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/12141/repair-reseat-needle-valve-methodThis post discusses a fuel seat that won't seal closed, but there was other info out there that says they polish their seats to prevent sticking closed needles

Something does not look quite right, could be just the angle of the video though. Forgive me if this has already been covered but have you set the float height? The float height is surprisingly easy to knock out of whack. I have had the float needle hang up a bit and it seemed to wedge itself due to the angle of the bracket. It almost looks like the hinge part of the float is bent excessively where it enters the float. You could try straightening that out and bend just the tab that the needle rides on to adjust the float height.
Hang in there, IMO the carb setup IS the most frustrating part of of tuning, followed by the CVT. I have been struggling to get the carb on my naked Kymco just right for weeks now.LoL

Your last vid shows poor fuel flow thru the needle and seat, gotta be something in there...Have you done that test with the float and needle removed?

I think you might be right; a "new" carb may be "cheaper", but if it's a good carb then it'll only be cheaper used, and who knows what you got then. I'm still digging for a complete carb for ya, but you should be able to get a rebuild kit for that vm22. Those aren't bad carbs, it's a mikuni. I've got a vm24 mikuni from a kx65 on mine, works awesome, $35 used, but I had to buy jets and adjust the float height.

I polished the seat, now it flows like crazy! I risked it and took it out for a mile ride, it didn't stall out!

Hey hey!! Alright man, good. Glad you got that carb working, mikunis are good carbs and that's a good size carb so it should work well for a bbk.
