benji sent me a clean 1 piece cable, it fits like a dream. Now i don't have to jiggle the handle to get the splitter to snap closed any more. Too bad the weather will be solid rain for the next 3 days, i suppose my scoot could use a shower.

Get it outta the rain!! Even if just under a tarp.

The only thing I would be worried about is having the plastics off and with electrical parts unhooked. Riding in the rain isn't a problem I can guarantee mine has been outside (with a tarp tho plus a scooter cover) since the day I bought it.

Get it outta the rain!! Even if just under a tarp. it sleeps inside a garage all tucked away waiting for its outings like any properly stored scooter. Sometimes i still have to run errands in the drizzle though... but its easy to scrub clean when it gets a decent pre-rinse

I took er out for another short jaunt before the rain sets in for the day, i get this feeling theres something hiding in there. Waiting to come out. I know that moving up to a performance exhaust would unlock a new level of power. I have steps i ought to take first though.
Next subject of study on scooter performance is stability. I need to know it will stand up well to the added power coming in later upgrades. For this, i will look into tires, wheels, suspension, brakes, and the front forks. I've done some (little) reading into tires and suspension.
Right now where it sits, it feels... loose. The first point i will address is tires. They feel lopsided right now. Balance and time spent sitting. I have a line on a pair of pirelli 3.0x10's. Its a cheap replacement right now for the 90/90-10's i currently have. I'll be studying tire balancing, profile, and grip. Second point i may need some guidance on. I don't have the understanding to say what i am observing, but to the best of my ability, it feels like the rear wheel... isn't tracking? I feel it most taking corners in intersections, like the rear tire tracks slow to the outside. Loosely. Is there some detailed information describing cycle handling?

I didn't know pirelli made scoot tyres aswell! Sweet! I thought they were a decent brand tho? Not "cheap"

I suppose its safe to release a little history on this scooter now that the title finally cleared administration and arrived in my name. Like i had said earlier, it was manufactured in August, 2006. It was purchased from the dealership spring of 07 and very shortly after had its plates seized. The owner at that time sold it with an administrative impoundment on the title, and that title has never been seen again. The scooter itself traded hands a few times since then, nobody attempting to re-register it. The poor thing's been dumped, trashed, and left for parts. The guy i got it from tried to rebuild it, but being beyond his knowledge, left it in bits and sold it to me as a parts bike. I spent a few months trying to track down the title, but came up empty handed. The DMV set me up with some paperwork to release it from its AI and another showing my due diligence to track down its title. I filed those papers along with an application for a new title which finally arrived to me today! Though its been through hell, its finally gotten its second chance at a good life. Now its time to start polishing up this poor scooter.

Check the rear axle bearing. If the wheel is wobbly at all that could be the culprit. And try to figure out the biggest tire you can put on there- it'll help your top speed and stability. My old aero had a 2.75 x 10 rear tire when I got it, I swapped it to a 3.5" ruckus wheel and a 90/90, ride improved greatly.

I've done some investigating into my wheel alignment, best i can see is my rear wheel is a quarter inch off center left. Traced it back to the engine mount bracket, realized it may have been nudged off center from a previous accident before my ownership. It coincides with the exhaust shield scrape and the broken carter exhaust mount torquing the whole rear end just slightly off center. I'll be taking the scooter over to a friend's place to see if we can't persuade it back to square.
After a handful of extended test runs, i get a top speed of roughly a straight 40 mph. It gets there in no time flat, but its very much like a brick wall when it gets there. I had a thought about regearing to make up the power displacement, but realized if its a brick wall, i also need to open up the air flow in and out of the engine first.
I'm considering going to a carb bore at or above 19mm, and a less restrictive exhaust. I don't know why, but i'm still hung up on a stealth pipe. I've found some performance graphs for the tecnigas silent pro, but not much on malossi's golden lion. Hopefully a few others turn up with some decent data, otherwise I might just bite the bullet and go with an expansion pipe. But i'd just feel better with a stealth style performance pipe.
Once the engine can breathe better, then i will investigate the cvt. Thats where i'm at currently. If anyone has some info on anything currently, i'm open for suggestions

I have the technigas next r. Not a bad pipe, not very expensive and gets the red line up to about 10-11k.
