Make sure and clean/check the carb and jets good. Sometimes dirt ends up in the jets and sends you unknowingly to leanville! I did clean the carb right after i saw your post - thanks for the reminder! I also did a brief maintenance check through the cvt (i need a new belt and a couple sets of rollers when i order parts) and regreased the secondary sliding sheave. Changed oil in the gearbox too. Buttoned it up and gave it a test ride and i'm... sad. It's a slow revving, slowmobile. It doesnt even top 7900 rpm. I didnt bother with measuring port timings cuz my rough checks showed me i wasn't going to be impressed with this jug. Low compression, low port timings, it's a dud without decking and a base spacer. And only after that would i consider porting and portmatching. At least i can ride it up to the store if i wanted...

I’m reading through your build thread. What has your highest mph been so far?

I’m reading through your build thread. What has your highest mph been so far? 40 - limited by short gears, stock carb and pipe, and stock cvt.

i'd like to point out i picked up a set of cpi mina longcase carters (left, right, gearbox) and will be building that engine. Parts plan (subject to change) is a s6 racing mk2 70cc lc kit, 21mm dell carb, build a stainless pipe, malossi or and - gonna try to look into one of those reveno clutch sets and see if there isnt one adaptable to a mina engine. Gearset is all dependant on availability and setup, but if i can ballpark 10-10.5:1, i'd be happy.
Scoot frame is gonna be adjusted too. Been trying to find a telescopic disk front fork that fits a 13 inc wheel to fit an 06 tng venice but my knowledge of steering stems is pretty limited. I've had this wildly crazy idea of getting pitbike forks and turning a custom headtube - then fabbing that on there. Literally its all coming down to sourcing and learning what fits as far as that goes

My Venice hits 47mph with a 70cc Polini contessa, 21mm carb and China expansion pipe on stock gears. I’ve been considering a different front end swap as well. I’m excited to see what you find.

I’m excited to see what you find. i believe benji made mention once before about a set of T-forks that fit up in the venice and they were yama based... prebug? I'd have to do some hardcore digging but it's in the forum here somewhere.

Done some of that digging i said i'd do - a yama jog fork swap is a direct drop-in. which then opens up the whole world of - what forks all drop into a jog - cuz they'll drop into a venice too. now to find a tele-fork that'll take a 13" rim with disk brakes =D

You'll have to let me know what all parts you pick up for the conversion - keep a running tally so i can start looking at parts myself - i definitely wanna get out of the leading link front drum - and probably into a 12-13" rim as well if i plan on gettin it going faster. hope that helps!

I’m sorry if this derails your thread at all. I’ve been looking at the jog r/rr stems and it looks like you can get them for 26mm or 30mm shocks. Have you shopped shocks at all to see what’s out there?
The Ruckus NCY forks I have are 27mm.

I have not done much for fork shopping yet - my original plan before was to chop the steering tube off the frame and weld on a new one for a pit bike so i'd have upper and lower trips and a 16" disk wheel... I've got an immediate project for a neighbor today and tomorrow before work (2nd shift) but after that, i'll be free to do some digging and mucking about. i'll post my progress. and per your message, yea if you wanna dig up some info, give them a call and post back cuz i'm definitely interested myself. Now to find my brake cylinder hone...

So, I believe I posted about this in my fork/wheel swap thread. There are basically two styles of front forks for Yamaha scooters. The bug-eye Zuma/02+ aerox are one size and the jog/prebug/vino/mbk bikes are usually the same. Most Chinese clone bikes seem to be either jog style or ruckus style from what I've seen. I personally put the forks from a TNG Venice onto a third-generation jog. I'm sure going the other way would work too, but the jog is shorter than the vino so the fork would probably lower the bike.

A fork from a mbk nitro should fit and would allow an aerox/nitro style front wheel, like mine.
