I tell you this scoot is not a good summer scoot. How is it for you 90GTVert? You got a similar radiator setup. Does it feel hot too around the lower legs? I don't notice any heat from my radiators, but I have pegs that keep my feet and legs farther back away from the radiators and out in the fresh air a little more. Not sure how you ride, but I also have on long pants and crew socks whenever I ride so I wouldn't be as susceptible to a little heat as someone that wore say shorts and ankle socks. Ear plugs are very common for bikers and cheap enough to try. If you're worried about everyone else, then you'll need to try to quiet the scoot though. I run an airbox so it's loud, but it's not unbearable. When the silencer packing wears out, it gets to be a problem. You may want to have a look at that. I noticed a much sharper sound from my exhaust when the packing was worn. Turns out my wife has a wide range of earplugs. I guess my snorring is that bad. LoL Anyways, she gave me military grade earplugs which suppose to have the best and highest dampening effect. I'll give those a try and report back. 90GTVert i do wear ankle socks with jeans. Sometimes even sneakers and shorts at very hot summer days. The pipe and cylinder have around 200km on it. I really hope that the packing in the silencer isn't done already otherwise this is gonna be an expensive to ride scoot. I believe that the seat bucket acts as some sort of megaphone since the airfilter sits inside it. So maybe adding some dampening material inside the bucket might soften the sound a bit? I don't really care about the "regular" citizen. But the cops might pull me out just because of sound issues. They usually don't mind bike or scooter tuning in general but if you put a bad ass loud pipe or exhaust on it that can get you in trouble. I'll just fiddle around with a few ideas and see where that goes. Thx for all the info and help. |
