Why again aircooled if you can go LC? Stage 6 racing for peugeot Malossi MHR rep Plug n Play guys.....nothing more than just plug n play... I compared the air cooled cylinders because Honda & Kymco did not offer and LC option like Peugeot does. I wanted to compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges. As for them being 90% the same, Im gonna say 50%. Here is why. The crankshafts are different. The oil pump is driven on the variator side on the Honda/Kymco, the Peugeot is driven on the flywheel side. Honda/Kymco Peugeot The belt lengths, Kymco is 732x18.5x28 Honda is 654 x 18 x 30 Peugeot is 769-18-32 Safe to assume the the CTV covers are not swappable In a previous post I think the exhaust flanges are different. I agree the engine mounting is different.

Paying attention scootadik ? Some real good info flying around here. The only other thing I can add is that you should take your time and do it right, oh and don't forget to add gearbox oil.

Hi Lucass2T , Yes thats exactly what i need, how do i build it. and also i want to try those things like boost ports thing that i saw on some forums, i want to unleash the power of this 70cc 2T engine . Can you help me? Pfew...engine building advice. Im assuming you dont have any experience but know the basics of building an engine. Im not gonna write whole stories here. Im gonna give you some keywords and hints which you have to google and study yourself. Ill give you some pointers too. Always work in a clean, tidy sand non humid enviroment. Always thouroughly clean the parts you are using before you start working with them. Make sure you don't use the 'hot cold' method when mounting the crank. Heat cases to 110 celcius and put bearing in first. Then heat bearing innerring with gas soldering pen until yellow/gold discoloring appears. Then drop in crank. NEVER use force to mount the crank. Dont put the crank in the fridge/freezer due to moist. Always measure ring gap, file ends back if needed. Use 2t oil to pre lube the cylinder and piston before you mount the cylinder. Always check squish clearance. Always check compression. Always do a leakdown test. Always torque headbolts down with 11nm. After a short warmup period retorque head with 11nm. Thank you for this Loocass2T, I will post may progress maybe on saturday, i only have 1 day per week since i have a work. another question do you know some online store that sells aftermarket parts for this engine?

Hi There! Im going to built a 70cc AF16 engine from scratch, can anyone tell me where to start? To me, starting from "scratch" means starting with nothing, hence scratching shit up like the chickens. This is good news! I have been looking for someone to do an AF16 while I am doing my TA01-E. My research to date shows that the AF16-E/Peugeot SC50 have virtually the same engines. (In Thai we don't have the same names...Metropolis, Speedfight...never see those) My TA01 has minor variations, which is why I have been toying with what parts are still available that can fit and work, with or without modification. One example: I installed a Dio "performance" ignition a bit blindly, (Not knowing the exact curve) but because it was super cheap and has no rev limiter. It was like $40 shipped. Plug and play. It played very well. The Gyro was 8400 rpm limited, but did just under 9500 with the OEM pipe in really bad shape. I did not notice any issues other than my engine was old. It zipped from standing start. Many of my plans could work well on your engine...except mine is a 3 wheeler. Even some drive train parts work. Gyro has a stepped variator...essentially a two speed. Many other CVT's will fit. There are many AF18 mods that I have seen, but all are 12mm wrist pin mods, so swapping cranks, which mean case welding on a Gyro...or using a 47mm piston with 10mm pin in a 12mm kit, usually throwing cash away to some degree.

This last batch of threads related to Peugeot connections with DIO AF16-E are what I have been studying...but via web views only as i cannot find a Peugeot to compare with my TA-01 Gyro. The AF16 has a tiny bit of port timing differences, as I have stated prior. Interestingly, the Peugeot Metropolis is nearly identical to mine and listed as such on Malossi's site.
Thailand has boat loads of scooters, but Peugeot are not amongst them, unless imported privately.
My Japanese friends implied that there were no direct water pumper top ends that fit any Af16 or TA01...which is why they adapt Dio cranks from newer Dio 12mm piston pin engines. I have not believed them much. This is potentially good for me as well!

Which model Dio are they using the crank from?
I've been having a bit of a look online and all the Dio cranks I'm seeing seem to have the oil pump drive on the wrong side for a Gyro engine? But I'm likely missing a lot in my searches.
The cylinder I've found listed as direct replacement for the Gyro cross references to Honda Lead, Vision AF29 and Peugeot Metropolis SC50. No water cooled option I've found though.

So can the water pump from the speedfight 2 bolt up to the fly wheel side off the dio case? Read somewhere on here that it will.
