hey guys I'm new to this form and just got a kymco super 9 ac. i want to upgrade the roller weights and got a roller weight tuning kit. now i want to upgrade the contra and clutch spring. i was thinking 1500 clutch spring and 1000 contra spring. What are your thoughts on this setup? also do you know any places i can order them from i cant find them anywhere?

:welcome:
I dunno much about the Super 9s, but if you can get the CVT operating at the right RPM with the roller weights, you don't really need a contra spring upgrade unless you are getting belt slip. If you just wanna try one, go with a 1000 and then you'll have to move up in roller weight from whatever was in tune wit the stocker. You'll probably want 1500-2000RPM clutch springs. Maybe someone more familiar with that scoot has better advice, but generally the 50cc 2Ts like stiffer clutch springs.

Super 9 is a 2 stroke engine same as the Honda Dio. (with, and without, liquid cooling, the DIO never had liquid cooling, so there is a bit of a crossover there) www.motorscooterguide.net/Kymco/Super9/Super9.htmlParts, or performance parts, are going to be a bit "tough" for you, as the DIO was never imported to the US. I see parts at Provo, and Scootertronics. (not an endorsement) Like the DIO you can punch it out to 125cc (replicating a Honda NH125) with some machine work. (I'm building a DIO motor here this summer, you can PM me for parts in Canada)

oh i found moped hospital to have the parts that i need instead. I'm going with a 2000 rpm clutch spring, leaving the contra spring stock and putting on a technigas next r pipe. i heard the contra spring really doesn't need to be upgraded? your thoughts on this setup and what my expected top speed will be is much appreciated.

The DIO engine is COMPLETELY different than the s9 engine. The dio engine is what the kymco zx was made after. those 2 are pretty much the same .. zx is a cloned dio...Otherwise yep, just like i was told awhile back, the kymco engine is all by itself.. the a.c s9, ppl., cobra share the same engine,(the l.c has a totally diff top end). the zx has a cloned dio engine. Yeah, M.H has all the s9 goodies... ;) S.P.I had some great deals on some kymco stuff awhile back, may be worth a shot still....

Yeah, that's the right site.. Good deal on that pipe too... Just one is a bit stiffer.... .. I do believe that will depend on your set up..The 2000's seem good, but i like that extra "stall", but of course i am still learning this stuff... :stars:

what do u mean by the extra stall? like how much u have to twist the throttle before the scooter starts moving?

Yep, pretty much... Or how much it revs before moving

so it will have more power behind the acceleration because its at a higher rpm. with the rollers from the next r and the pipe plus 2000rpm clutch springs what will be my top speed

Cant really say WHAT the speed will be.. A stiffer contra will help on hills, The clutch springs give you extra stall to get more rpm's at takeoff. The lighter rollers will allow for more belt travel The a.c s9's are a tad slower than the l.c's for sure. The a.c exhaust is more restrictive than others also..

the problem i have there are a few of my favorite roads that i would love to take the scooter on. they have tons of turns and changes in altitude meaning hills not steep but they are hills. the speed limit is 40mph but flow is more around 45mph. i would like to achieve a steady 40mph so i can travel these roads that is my main goal . with the mods listed before do you thing that is capable with the exhaust roller weights and clutch springs?
