Just stick with the same mixture. 32:1 is plenty of oil, on the safe side.
The cracked reed block tab will only affect performance if there is an air leak around it.

Excellent, thank you. I picked-up a vaccuum tester, can you tell me what it should optimally read? Also, will an analog tach-from, say, farm and fleet, work on my beamer? The one I was looking at only went up to 8 grand. I also got the BR8HS plugs and premium gas which I will continue to mix at 32:1.

no those tachs you get at fleet farm will not work on a 2 stroke or anything less then a 4 cyl engine

that's what I was afraid of, and what stopped me from buying one. Does anyone have an idea of where I can pick-up a relatively inexpensive tach?

tiny tach is one trail tech makes the tto that will work there are some cheapies on ebay but on other boards i have heard mixed results but you also have to make sure they read high enough i have on for working with small engines that only reads 9999

Let me start by saying thank you so much to all who helped me out here. I changed the plug and put premium in my mix. Scoot ran soooo much better! I was able to bury the speedo on the scoot(my phone gps speedo said 47mph) without the crackle in the exhaust. The rpms didn't seem overly excessive either. I ran it on a flat street with an air temp of around 50, picked-up like a champ and seemed to really grab around 30mph or so. I'm alot happier with this. Thanks again! Now I can go ahead and mess with the springs and rollers and see what I can get out of it.

Sweet! Glad it was an easy fix.
I love my Trail Tech TTO tachs. If you can catch 'em on sale at Cycle Gear they're a really great deal. I forget the max RPM they read, but I've seen about 12,000RPM on one. When you shut the engine off it automatically displays max RPM from your last ride. Pretty cool for tuning.

Well guys, just a quick update- I thought that the beamer was running the way I wanted it to, however, it seems as though I have some electrical gremlins in it. Since last week, my fuel guage has been working intermittently- when the guage works, the scoot runs awesome- and when it isn't, the scoot runs like crap. Along with that, the horn phantomly started blaring and wouldn't stop! Imagine my embarassment as I rocketed through town with the horn screeming the whole way. The scoot is currently back at the shop (been there for 4 days, will be there another 2 at least), getting a new fuel sending unit, a new horn switch, and upjetted to correct the lean condition at wot. Setting me back another $200.00 that I would rather have put into the cvt and other cosmetic touches. I hope this takes care of the minor issues and I can enjoy the ride and focus on other things to make it my own. I thought that it may be a cdi issue due to the fact that the green rev limiter wire was cut but not insulated or covered, just left bare. Mech said that was not the issue, but I guess we will see.

Sounds to me like either (or both): a "bad" ignition switch, or a "bad" ground, either caused by too much time out in the rain.

I guess I'll find-out Tues. evening. I do ride it in the rain sometimes, when it isn't raining too heavy. Love to ride and don't really let the rain stop me from riding it to work. The mech. is supposed to put 20 to 30 miles on it to make sure that everything is good to go. He had it for almost a year and I'm not sure where he stored it over the winter, but it didn't come back to me in the greatest condition- missing body screws, extra dings and scratches. I only had it back for close to three weeks, now he's got it again.

Hit's self in head *thinking* (I *thought* we had cured you of "that" mechanic).

Lmao, right! Unfortunately he is the only option I have, unless I take a carb course and learn how to do this stuff myself.
