6 days for an hours worth of work WTF??? Go get your scoot!!! At least you'll be riding instead of paying the Mech to ride YOUR scoot. You can lead a horse to water but....... FYI you could have bought a new scoot for the cost of your mechanic's repairs.

Thanks Bong, that fact has not escaped me. The whole idea behind it was to have a bitching scoot, and it would have been successful if I would have had a mech that could've handled it and been straight with me. Now I'm going to do all the work myself, and I plan to use this forum and all of your assistance.

Good news! Got it back! Took it for a test run and seems to be going just fine. I didn't get the parts that he replaced, but at this point I don't really care. Just happy to have it back and now I can be done with his nonsense. I do have a quick question- when mixing rollers, is it right to alternate the two different weights? Also, no one answered my earlier question regarding which screw is which on my carb.

Good on You brother!!!!! I hope ya can Scoot the rest of the year without problems!!!!!! Seems your Mech did put some VERY decent parts on the scoot. I just think it's a shame it took a year for you to enjoy them. To answer your questions--- If you use different weight rollers Yes, Stagger/alternate the weights. 1 5g, 1 4g etc... I missed the screw question but, there should be a brass screw with a spring around it on the throttle, Thats the Idle adjustment. The other one is the A/F mix. IMO You've had enough problems and paid enough money so just enjoy the ride for a few months!!!! Now that you have a Bitchen scoot don't go playing with things if it's running good. No need to change anything at this point if your happy with how it runs!!!!!!!

Thanks Bong. I look forward to riding the hell out of this thing for the rest of the season! I still can't help but try to make it go faster and run better. On the carb, there are two screws on the front of the carb, one in the front center, and one close to the air intake. I assume that the one by the air intake is the a/f screw.

Ride the Hell Out of that Kick Ass Scoot :wheelie:  I totally get trying to get that little extra and I encourage you to learn how to do it yourself. Can you post another pic of your carb? If so I am sure these fine folks can describe what every screw, hose and bolt does. I only ask cause like I said, I don't know much about 2 strokes and wanna learn myself

yeah it would help to see a pic if there is one in the center that is normaly the idle screw and if the other screw is on the filter side of the carb its an air a/f screw (out means leaner) if the screw were on the manifold side of the carb it would be a fuel a/f screw(out means richer)

The one by the inlet is the mixture screw. One easy way to identify those is that they are set in the carb, not sticking out. The other should be idle speed adjustment.

like brent said the one by your air box is you a/f screw and being its on the air box side out is lean and in is rich so if you are more then 2 turns out you need a smaller pilot and less then 1 turn out a larger pilot jet

Ok, waiting for my springs to show-up, should be here soon. I am putting a 1000 contra, and 2000 clutch springs. Plus I'm going to mix my stock rollers and the rollers I got with my pipe, then take the left-overs to the p.o. to have them weighed so I have an idea where I'm at. I know that I should only do one adjustment at a time, but I'm anxious to see how these changes affect it, and I'm lousy at waiting! Oh, I'm also working on an air scoop, however, I'm a little reluctant to make it permanent, but I guess I can just buy a new fan cover if it comes to that. Btw, I plan on stealing the led in the fan area idea, I really like the way that looked!

Well, I went and got my rollers weighed-started at the post office and got .2oz on both sets, then stopped at the local head-shop and got 4.7 grams on one set, and 5.5 grams on the 2nd. Now, there is not a great difference between the two, so I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to see a noticeable difference in mixing these-right? Next-up are pics of my variator and fan. In the first pic I have a small washer pulled crooked to show where it is, this is the location for installation order. I'm wondering if I'm getting enough belt travel? I'm wondering if moving that washer to the other side of the variator will help move the belt up? Right now it is between the variator and the variator fan, on the end of the bushing(or whatever that is called).

The difference in 5.1 compared to 4.7 or 5.5 will be very slight. A couple hundred RPM maybe? Good for fine tuning. You could try removing the washer or moving it and see what happens. Might help. If not, put it back where it is. A set of slider weights would likely get you a little more travel. Might wanna figure out what weight you need with cheaper rollers though. Maybe a slight increase in top speed, usually an increase in acceleration. There's some info on this sort of stuff in my Project 90 thread you may be interested in. Various CVT mods throughout... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=1712&page=1
