So I finally found a head but the angle of the exhaust is different. Do I hack and weld or can I bend it with heat? Is there a flexible pipe available for a scooter exhaust? That would easiest I guess.

Tubing can be bent but you might want to ask around and find someone nearby that has experience.

on the kymco forum the used map gas to heat and bend a headpipe. actually i think they did both, used map gas to heat the header and placed it correctly then welded a cpi flange on the kymco pipe

In addition to heating and bending to change the angle as mentioned above, if it is clocked wrong slotting the mounting holes in the flange may help.

Put a caster under the end and call it an outrigger. Or just use it to mount a sidecar.
Get a little HEAT and bend it.

Would a propane torch be hot enough?

You can always try but it will be slow going. Oxy-Propane would work.

Lol the exact same problem I encountered just a few weeks ago on my BBK setup. Yours looks to be a bit further off than mine was tho... I ended up having to drill a new hole with a longer bolt and some washers. I'm getting a piece put together for the upper part. I'm sure you can figure something out that'll look nicer tho. I tried the propane torch and it didn't heat quick or even enough in my opinion, to bend my emissions pipe over so I can make the upper bracket piece. Bernzomatic sells a kit with both the oxy-acetylene

Best option is to cut the pipe off about 1"(25mm) down from the flange, test fit and mark the parts, then have them rewelded at a car muffler shop..

I have some 1 inch flex pipe. Would that work?

I have some 1 inch flex pipe. Would that work? i dont inow about a scoot but flex pipe is loud on a car and rust through prettyessy, especially the closer to the head it is.

The Bernzomatic setup is fairly worthless, a big waste of $$.
A muffler shop would probably also have a O/A torch.

The bernzomatic kit works great for me. Just my opinion... thought I'd share incase others were strapped for cash. The welders in my area aren't cheap, but then again the states usually have better prices.
