Lets define our terms here. Bernzomatic makes a wide range of products.
I have several propane only torches from different manufacturers, including bernzomatic. Mapp gas is different from propane and will heat and braze much better. I have used Mapp gas but I do not own a torch set for that gas. Most butane torches are OK for cooking or lighting a cigar. I also have an old bernzomatic oxy-propane torch rig somewhere that used oxygen generator pellets and was fairly worthless. There are real oxygen gas cyclinder and propane gas torches available that work well.
For low grade heating plain propane only works fine. For bending, welding, and cutting, I use my Oxy-Acetylene torch or use the torch with propane instead of acetylene.

DUDE!Whats the problem with getting the pipe cut and rewelded??Now I see swapping the motor Get a hack saw and cut that sucker off 1 inch after the flange, bolt on the flange, bolt on the muffler, make some index marks, remove it and take it to a muffler shop, cant cost more than $20,heck,I'd do it for free, only takes 15 minutes!!Even better, take the scoot to a muffler shop and let them handle it!!

+1 car muffler shop. Or if you're short on cash see if one of the guys there can do it off hours for less. That should be cake compared to some of the stuff they have to do.

Cut and weld is the best option.

Mapp gas is different from propane and will heat and braze much better. I have used Mapp gas but I do not own a torch set for that gas. Most butane torches are OK for cooking or lighting a cigar. I have a rosebud tipped hand-held remote reservoir electric light bernzo-matic torch with belt-looped hip holster "designed for plumbing and brazing, use with map gas or propane cylinders". Came with a map gas cylinder; I use Propane for dabs, and a metal fabricator(my brother) for welding. Map gas is much hotter and better for brazing. Propane is typically used for soldering. I've used both, for metallurgy and for heating the elements on dab rigs. Propane is cheaper and easier to find than map, and I'm assuming less "poisonous". I was the one who suggested "possibly" getting a new motor, just cuz the OP seemed to have a hell of a time finding a head, now he's having exhaust fitment problems. I recently saw a gy6 150cc scooter for sale on for like $100, seemed easier to swap in a complete motor than continuing to mess with this oddball motor.

Problem is it has to be an extra long case. This scoot has 16 inch wheels. A normal long case won't work. I have a replacement engine, that's where the head came from. I can use the rest for spares, but it's not a drop in solution. Until I can find another xingyue ita 150 (or bms pathfinder, as it was also called) I have to make do with what I have.

I was looking at mio parts, they won't work. I suppose I may be able to drop that engine into mine. But I'm sure there would be electrical conflicts. I would hate to besmerch the good name of yamaha. I'd never be able to play my 71 red label acoustic again!

Hmmm, for me electricals are much easier to deal with than mechanical parts. There are a limited number of electrical functions to set up for small scoot or motorcycle and wires are very flexible.

To me that's a 6 pack on a Friday afternoon job. Had the same job done converting a stage6 Minarelli pipe to work on a Morini, just walked into a fab shop that had the door open one Saturday, had 3 welds tigged up and it only cost a few beers.
