yes. the wheels will swap right out. Great point Dave! It does make substantial difference in rotational mass therefore making things allot easier for the lil engine to do its thing. You might have seen Brents reports of changes going to a lighter tire and wheel? However, this can be a problem if your scooter isnt geared right to run a smaller tire.
Hahah!!! Erica and i both riding on the back wheel! Sounds like a dream of mine....

I think i would have had the Zip,s engine swapped and tuned by now but i ran into a small issue. I need to get a set of solid rubber mounts for the longcase engine before i can mount it in zee scoot . Heres my pics Long case next to short. If i have to specify then, well your blind :lol: You can see the mount still on the engine in these pics. I cant get the bushings out of the engine so im going to have to get a new set Its the one on the left, no the right...Maybe the bottom, no the top :rofl: Heres the solid style bushings that come in this shortcase engine. And a pic of the shortcase mount held up to the longcase with the style bushing i am used to seeing. Just a bearing Eeewwwy And some pics of the scooters frame and mounting points I hope to have it going by next week, or about two hours after i get the new bushings ;D

Oh, ive been meaning to mention this since Fox brought it up and forgot. The wheels wont swap. Well they will but you can see in the pics were backspacing would be a serious issue. Might not be so bad if you dont mind "dogtracking" lol.

Why not fab a bushing/spacer to fit the bearing ID,I could "zip" some out if you give me some dimensions...

I thought those were specific to ATVs, didn't know any scoots used those rubber bushings.

That would work. I was working on that idea when i realized the ID of the bearing style mount is allot bigger than the 10mm i need. In short nothing i had would fit tight. I knocked the old bearings out of the engine already but i suppose i could put them back in and see?

On second thought. Ide need some kind of rubber or cushion in there or it would vibrate my wife,s hands asleep. I remember Brent going that route with solid mounts. I can get em for around $20 from PFS but ya know. lol. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, be careful getting too solid with the mounting or you'll be replacing all sorts of parts. The vibration from an engine at the RPM we operate at being transmitted throughout the scoot is harder on parts than I ever realized before I tried it. I guess sitting at lights with my glasses rattling around on my face to the point that it blurred vision at times should have clued me in? lol

hhhmmm, mount does have rubber in the other end tho.... Hey Fox. If you ever get the urge for mo powa outta your Zip, or Zip clone (whatever) you should shop for a 90cc quad motor like Brent got. Knowing what we know now, one would literally drop right in with as little as the rear brake hook-up, maybe some wire switching or stator swapping. Thats it, am i missing something :dunno: ? I think thats a big bang for buck mods there ! That is if you get a deal on a engine?

Shit man, that sucks you gotta wait.
Cool of 190 to offer to help, but I think you should go the proper route - it's one thing when you are riding it, another when it's your wife, ya know?
I think the 90cc swap from an ATV would still be the best way to go, like Robert said. How hard/expensive was it to swap the brake hardware over on that Venus, Brent? I'm too lazy to go searching, lol.

No need to go searching. Just click the link Robert posted above your post. Short form, if you can diassemble and reassemble the gearbox, you can swap the brake hardware in. The tricky part is finding that stuff. I used the hardware from the Venus' stock engine. On another build (P90) Robert was kind enough to donate the brake hardware from a parts scoot of his.
