I dont really think a new thread is necessary and others might find this informative so here we go We traded my sons 04 Vento Zip clone for a real Vento Zip R3i. Since getting these scoots and working on them ive noticed many differences. They are both powered by pretty much the same Minarelli short case 49cc mill. One is a China engine (clone) and the other 'might' be a CPI, better quality engine? I havent looked yet but most all of the 2T Vento,s i have worked on or owned have had CPI Minarelli,s. Those were all long case engines thought and this is a short. We traded this For this They are both great lil scoots but are a little different just so people know. The obvious differences are wheel size (Clone 10,s Zip 12,s), front forks and axle size, bigger front brake rotor on the Vento. The Vento Zip uses a bigger "Triton" style headset and handlebars, as wel as the instrument cluster. I dig the blue back-lighting Some might find this useful when ordering brakes, front shocks, triple tree, tires, or just about anything for the handlebar area. I wish i had more pics of the two for comparison. Here are the few i have. In this one you can see the front end is different. Small, non rebuild- able front shocks and 10 inch wheels. (and my lovely wife ;D) The Vento Zip has bigger rebuild-able shocks and 12inch wheels. A bigger front rotor, etc.. Like i said, they both are great scoots and im sure all the parts will swap around either way if one wanted to do so. Just thought ide share our trade. Nice. Do the turn signals in the headlight work on the real zip or just the hbar mounted signals? That's about the only thing on the clone I see that I like a little better than the real thing. Smooths it out a bit. If the Vento is so much better, how come everyone wanted to sit on the old one for pics and the Vento is lonely? lol J/K I love my Ventos. I never really thought of them as being much, if any, better than other Chinese scoots. I did when I bought my first Triton and was told they were made in America. Then I heard they were assembled in America. Then I heard they were assembled in Mexico. I looked it up and this is what someone says on wikipedia... Im sure you would like the ride better with the Vento front shocks.?. Im sure thats an easy swap though.
The headlights are kinda like my Cobra, as in you can turn them off via switch, Off-marker, or parking lights- ON headlight. On the other (left side) switch it has the lowbeam-highbeam, and "passing" flash button.
The marker lights could easily be wired up as the turn signals just like the LS49 "Max" clone. I will probably do that when i switch out the headlight. Not to keen on the black paint over this one...

Nice trade! I always wanted one of those but I could never find the right deal. What does the VIN plate say as far as the factory/company that built it?
Too bad there's no front fender. That might be hard to find unless you plan on slamming the front end and making a dragster out of it in which case you don't need one.

The VIN plate says Vento "Motorcycles" made it. I have the fender for it, just need to put it on and clean this thing. Its dirty! Im done working on it for now though. I swapped and fixed a couple things, now its time my son gets on it. It is his scoot lol

Before we even really rode the thing we swapped out the stock CVT for a Hoca complete rear pulley, and hoca vari with 5g sliders. The same stuff that was in the other scoot. Other than a tuned CVT its stock for now :devil:

I got a deal on this lil dry shot off of ebay so i figured what the heck . Lets see what it does on a stock 49cc Mina mill? Only mods are cvt related. Hoca vari and complete rear pulley.. Other than that, this baby is ready for the bottle Ive seen this kit work at the track for short bursts of fun on fourpokes. Never seen one on a 2T in person tho I thought about a bigger main, richer needle setting, etc but at first i think i will just unplug the enricher and give it a short hit.. Keep my ears open and go from there. Might be a good idea for me to put a head temp gauge on? Exhaust temp would be better.. Whatever i do, i want it as subtle as possible. I want this scooter to appear as stock as can be.

I dunno that I'd make the cheap fun nitrous shot expensive by adding a bunch of gauges just yet. It's never a bad thing, but I'd prob try it before I started a parts list. I was thinking about this again today befroe reading this when I made a couple of runs. You've definitely got the idea rattling around in my head from hearing it mentioned recently. I'm very interested to see how it does. I still really like the idea of a wet kit, but I'll prob never spend that kind of money on nitrous for street scoots. $40ish is pretty reasonable for something to play with a few times.

I will be the official 49ccScoot.com nitrous test mule for this kit then i recon Lol, like i said, so far stock 70main and needle position. Enricher unplugged, and only a few short hits to see how it acts. Im sure if it works well the jetting will need to be changed. I figure it might need as rich main it will run on without loading up too bad without nitrous. Maybe even more? I dont think so tho, really... Not with this lil kit. I will report back. Going for the first test ride

Well, this has been fun and its still running good so ide say its all been good so far . I hooked the kit all up like the paper work said to. Here are some pics. Line run inside panels. When its all on and your on the scoot, the average person wouldnt notice anything. I should have known better, but there isnt anything to regulate the flow of nitrous as the kit comes. I should have taken more pics, and i will when i change the jet. As the kit comes you get straight blast from the hoses inner diameter. WAY too much nitrous flow for this thing! I melted the plugs electrode right off second hit. And the bottle was empty in no time! I dont see how this kit would work on any small engine as is? It still got me home like this. Only about half a block but it chugged home at 1/4throttle. Anything more and it would flood out. I put a new plug in and it fired right up and ran fine. Got to thinking about the nitrous kit, and the flow... I thought my jets for my Cobra might be about the same size and fit inside the nitrous hose?.. Yep! They are small and fit right in there! I started out with a 70 main. Dont ask what the heck size nitrous jet that would be? When i hit the nitrous now it feels allot more "controlled" so to speak. Hits pretty good and smooth, but not much stronger than a mild stocker hitting the pipe. But its working!!! Plug stayed together and looked good! Same stock jetting, 70main and needle in the middle clip.. Enricher unplugged. The nitrous lasted much linger this time, but wasnt really flowing enough IMO to be worth having on it. We went to a 80main. This time it hit harder but still "controllable". Here is my son riding it with the 80 main jet regulating flow. He hits it at :10 in the vid. Im not sure just how much quicker it is? I do know it is working. We havent riden side by side for scooter comparison yet.. Now our only complaint is that the bottles are too small All in all, i think you could tune your scooter to run and have fun with a mild shot of nitrous. Dry or not.. I cant speak for long term use yet, but we sure had fun today with it ;D

Thanks for all the info. I had searched for solid info like this on these little kits and no one seemed to be sharing. Any estimate on the actual time the bottle lasts with your current jetting? Is that a whole bottle in the vid?
If you go by the numbers you typically find online, the .8mm jet should be good for roughly 40HP. lol
Different manufacturers rate based on different bottle pressures. I wonder what bottle pressure these whip-its have? I read that CO2 cartridges are 800-850psi, but didn't see anything about the N2O cartridges. EDIT : I did another search and I'm seeing numbers from 700-900psi. Most common seems to be around 750psi. Of course any of those numbers change with temp. I saw one whip-it manufacturer saying to never expose their cartridges to above 120F.
