That's totally different to my slider, and BWS. They must of changed the design at some point. I guess that's why some have two springs. And some one. Every days a school day. Paul all my jogs have been the same set up ,ignore my two springs comment (ravings of a mad man) Geoff

On the plus side my foggy clock problem has dissapeared, I like to think the small bag of dessicant silica gel I squeezed in the housing is keeping moisture at bay.

The accelerator cable gave up while it was on warm up at work,it was snapped right near the twist grip end,the logistics are complex but I returned last night with a replacement cable but failing light and a fancy coupling I couldn't,t fathom and then I pulled the carb end up into the nut which jammed in there .After much twiddling and WD40 the cable is now free and the fancy coupling now fathomed I can fix the scoot Saturday am. Geoff Quick update scoot fixed and back to normal, the repair was easy.

My centre stand and more to the point the housing for it has needed replacing for a long time now. I have been over thinking the job for quite sometime the whole scoot was resting on the exhaust pipe so I have addressed the problem by fitting a side side. It cost £30 from pedparts UK,ordered Tues del Fri so hats off to the supply chain.it,s made in Italy by RMS and I am very pleased with the quality and fitment, here it is it,s very model specific and so no drilling adjusting plates to bother with,it comes with the shortest fitting instructions I have ever seen just a picture and one sentence ,does the job though.

Back in June 2020 I was a bit rude to Naraku because of the early exhaust failure, shame on me,the centre stand broke the exhaust, sorry about that.

I quite like my Keeway side stand. It’s no good for service but it’s very good for holding my bike upright. (It’s only fallen once and that’s because I had it leaning uphill which actually made it straight up and down)

The simplest ideas are often the best. I did think about fitting a side stand on the slider. It's very easy to fit. Yamaha even Mark out the hole to cut in the panel for you. But no, I decided to drill the broken steel stand out of the aluminium casing. what a pain in the butt job.

The journey home was fun, it cut out while I was overtaking 30 or so cagers sat at the lights so I pushed it to safe spot and used my travelling tool kit to investigate, spark and fuel lines OK so I stripped the carb and found the pilot jet loose in the bottom of the bowl, put it back together,it did not want to start but after a few kicks I tried at half throttle at it fired up,rode the last 4 miles no problems.I am just swapping out for a new coil but beer o'clock came round so I will update later. Darn! That scoot must have a lot of power to vibrate the pilot jet completely out!!

Darn! That scoot must have a lot of power to vibrate the pilot jet completely out!! It,s not the power, much more likely that I did not tighten it up after chasing the poor start problem. Geoff

So I noticed the spark was a bit weak almost orange so I have put a new coil on,visual difference at the plug strong blue spark now. I left it a few hours to go cold and it kicks up easily now just like the old days, fingers crossed my poor start condition has left. The coil must have been failing/fading out but it,s 17 years old and now and retired I will keep it for garage art. Geoff

It's a constant job keeping these old scooters on the road.
This week someone a couple of streets up brought home a red jog RR, like I used to have. It's been sitting in their front garden with the seat bucket out. I'm guessing it's a none runner. Looks like it's been under water. Very poor condition. There are still old jogs out there.

Well I feel like I got a new scoot I let it sit all night and it fired up first kick, the butt dyno shows much better acceleration and it feels peppy again, because I ride every day I don't,t realise the performance had dropped off and I thought the ignition coil would be good or bad not as in this case tired but still functioning, lesson learned.
