Well I wasn't sure even sure if I could post this in a scooter section... Technically it IS NOT , and IT IS a moped. So, yesterday working outside on my scoot, my sister and daughter playing in the yard, my neighbor walked over to me...Decided to take me over to his little 66/68cc(?) Pedal Chopper... first the conversation went towards me trying to find out what type of engine this was...then it went towards me getting it to run(which funny cuz it does lol),... then he just said "well you might aswell have it instead of it sitting and gathering dust and algae." Yaaay! This isn't exactly the Yamaha jog I wanted but it's still another CC toy. Looking at at all the bits and every, geeeze these Pedal choppers look so fun and suuuuuper simple. No wires, no switches, no transmission to tune. The crankcase itself just so tiny!! The one thing I need to look at is how the chain drive works. Sorry for the crappy picture, I didn't think I would have owned this thing 2 minutes later. Its still in his yard. I'm gonna clear out a spot for it to sit and give it a good wash. It'll be so nice and shiny afterwards! I LOVE THE LONG FRONT FORKS! I think this engine is called something like a GT5a grubee or skyhawk. If someone can correct me...

The carb is an NTTC. I couldnt find any serial numbers but everything looks good to me. It just needs to be cleaned up and put back together 🙂 There is a slight problem with the clutch but I'll wait to see if I can even bother asking for help here. Again, it's a chain driven trani.

I'm amazed by how cheap the kits are. Do you know if there's a generic name for these engines? Seems it's more of a brand thing and the engines are pretty much all the same.

There are guys who mod these around my area. I'm not sure if they are basing them off the extreme low end ebay ones or not, but some of these guys claim they can hit 45+mph.

That would be fun. I'm not really comparing my scoot to this thing, because it seems waaaaay more simple to work on. But I honestly wouldn't have taken it if it wasn't a chopper type bike. If I can manage to get it running from a standstill I'll just remove the pedals. Bike still runs but it needs to be pedaled a bit to "engage the clutch"? It's supposedly missing a piece, but I am doing some research. My pink bucket would suit the bike perfect I feel the need for a full face on my scoot lol don't know why

I know the bike wasn't cheap , so it definitely has some better quality parts and it's basically custom made... I guess most of them are! But I just can't get over the big rear tire and the long front forks

Here in California, under 30mph and with pedals, its a cvc 406a and they are a 18$ one time fee to reg for a plate. You're supposed to have an m1 or m2 licence though.
The stand up goped type stuff doesn't require a reg, plate or M license though.. Makes me want to build up custom stand up scooter.

Don't even know why he bought it lol guess it seemed cool, but he has a busy life and he noticed I had been doing some stuff on my scooter lately , so I guess he thought it would be better in someone else's hands who would take care of it. I'll be excited to take some pictures even after I've just washed it up.... We didn't get into talk about needing to insure it or not, but I would assume it would need insurance since it's a 66cc or w.e. Laws are anything 49cc and up needs a license. Car license is fine for 50cc but anything higher suppose to have a motorcycle license. So.... does that mean I can a motorcycle license with the chopper moped!? LOL. I'll ask him. Another crappy pic anyways... still in his yard.

lol I know sorry. I wasn't in a crazy rush to make him dig it out, but I'll be able to get it running veddddy veddy soon Strange tho, that those 66cc motor bike engines give only 3 -3.5HP when my scoot does 4.3HP, I believe my manual says. Shiny head
