Thank you for getting back to me with that, if you happen to come across anymore feel free to ask 😜 I don't have anyone here to compare scoots or mopeds ☹️ Even the guy I'm planning to buy the new engine from is asking me what's the difference between angle fire and center fire, after I asked him which model he had lol

I don't know details on the reworking, but its got to be the same as the scooters. Lots of trial and retry to get all the pieces meshing well. Compression, squish, transfers, intake, exhaust, case volume, pipe, carb.. And it doesn't hurt that they weigh nothing.
What I'd love to build is a pitbike size version with a bmx. Packaging would be challenging..

In for an update too. I think I have one of the cheap heavy steel bmx frames that might work well with something like this. Suspension front end would probably be a smarter idea..
Yesterday I spoke to a guy at a local shop who currently offers "69cc kits." He tells me this, stock the kits do 30mph @ 2-3hp. Tuned with vm20, reed piston port setup with windowed pistons, 4-5hp. Dialed all the way in including one of the huge motocross size chambers, 8-9hp is possible. I couldn't help myself and picked up a kit while there. There were some pretty sweet bikes, anywhere from $500 to $3000 depending how far gone from standard they were. BMX front rim brakes seemed like their meat and potatoes brake setup, and disc brakes on the fast ones. He recommends rigid mounting using metal conduit to shim/brace the frame mounts.

I'm all for doing it for its sake. That's really cool that you got another project/hobby to do. And I pretty much can guess who your little helper is, which is making memories.

I've got to say, these are great fun. Its like the joy of riding a light tossable scooter, but taken even one step lighter..
Anybody out there, if you like 2t's and the law in your area allows for the riding of such things.. get one!
I see that there are reed valve and piston port options out there, but really the standard low power motors have more than enough pep for a bicycle.

So anybody want to buy my Yamahas? I think I'm in love with 2t bicycles now.. We'll see if it lasts. FYI a stocker is about as fast as my beater razz, both acceleration wise and top speed. 30mph FEELS fast though because bicycle. I'm sure it could pull more gearing if you wanted more mph. So what IS the deal with yours flames??
