Yes, my first few thoughts aswell, such a tiny carb! And then holy crap the exhaust is so small and if you bent it straight would be like an arms length lol! My only thing is understanding the chain, but I think once I open it and look around I might be able to figure it out. It's weird that you need to use a clutch like when your braking and taking off. A cool piece of history I learnt was that Harley had made the first "motor" "bike" and then progressed from there so I suppose the name stuck with motor-cycles, and a fella named Walter Kaaden had invented the expansion chamber is the early 1950's and the first expansion chamber had been made super long so that they could just sawoff lengths of it until they got there desired performance. I'm sure you guys already know, but maybe for those who don't?

Honda started off with motorized bicycles also. If you look at the years in GP racing where both 2t and 4t were allowed the same cc limits, its telling about tech advancements. Until the 70's 4t's were dominant.
The local fast bicycle guys run billet heads and larger bores and 18mm carbs. Next time I get a chance to speak to them I'll try to find out more details.

Thanks for that Benji! History and the coming of technology is always cool to learn to general! The shark blubber thing is pretty interesting, and great too see how civilization has come to be and is still progressing...

I have the billet "diamond head" on mine also. Any parts I need for the bike I'm gonna need to do special orders aswell. Even in the city, I don't think there's much for these bikes. USA is always better... for shopping 😜 And the weather! Lol.

Ya, then 2t DOMINATED gp racing until it was banned for being too fast haha. There's a movie called "the unrideables" where the fastest 2t riders from back then talk about being scared to ride the bikes cuz they were too hard to keep the front wheel on the ground or the rear wheel from spinning out in corners.

" it's a 2 stroke right? Those are very rare aren't they "
I notice how , on the track, they had to take a running start with the bikes. I guess the assisted motor-cycle is really the birth of it all. Thanks for sharing that 190, lead me to watch a few other related videos on this brilliant Walter kaaden

Now I'm further realizing why you all love the 2 strokes so much ❤️

The fact that during the 2002+ era 4T's had to have 990cc to run against the 500cc 2T's.. that really says it all, doesn't it.

^^yup, and they still can't hang really... it's almost impossible to ride a 2t racing bike at its limit imo. It's too fine an edge for most humans motor skills and deduction speed... all we can do is try haha.

A local bicycle guy dropped in on one of his bikes. He says it does 60+.. Self ported, reed, yz pipe, 18 mikuni. I think he said he is running the standard bore and stroke. Just lots of port work.

That sounds like a super fun project! No CVT tuning for these things YAY. When you say selfported, was that just the skirt? I've came across a great deal on a brand new assisted engine for $170. I think I'm gonna buy it and make my 16 year old sister a bike so she can get to her new job in the beginning of summer. The chopper is mine! ALL MINE! Now the YZ pipe I'm gonna need to look into. Might even be able to work something with the stock pipe, tho it's very weird. It tapers off maybe 5mm to the pipe/flange. So basically same diameter all the way through.
