It definitely spits some flames, but I went too early and it's bright enough out that you can't see them much on video. Got too excited. lol

I rode about an hour north to Camden, DE today for a bike meet that a friend organized. It was supposed to be at noon, but I sat there till 12:30 waiting for anyone else to show up. Turns out the organizer’s truck broke down towing his scoot and another. They apparently unloaded the scoots and left the truck. Had to get to the meet. LOL There wound up being 10 or so of us. Scoots, Harleys, sport bikes and even a CFMoto ADV. We hung around a parking lot for a bit and then they were gonna go get some food at a food truck not too far down the highway. Everyone starts up and then the guy on a Honda Dio goes to fire it up and the kickstart broke and would spin all the way around. He had e-start too, but it cranked over way too slow to ever start. I told him the kickstart prob couldn’t be fixed because something is likely broken if it can spin around. Sure enough, the gear broke right off of the shaft that goes through the cover. A guy on a sport bike took off to go grab a jump box. He came back with a cool little rig. It uses a cordless tool battery with a circuit breaker and short jumper cables attached. It worked really well, but then the Dio would only run with the choke on and the mix screw was all the way rich. One guy suggested a zip tie to hold the choke partially open. Good enough… let’s go. Then they point at my back tire. It’s flat. Nail in it. Pumped it up with a free air pump right beside us that was marked out of order but still worked to some degree. There was a harbor freight up the road and I was gonna follow them to the food spot and then go grab a plug kit. On the way there, the Jog quit. Would not start and was leaking black oil. It seems the choke even partially on was too much. The helpful sport bike guy pushed him with his foot, so we went the rest of the short distance on the side of the highway at 5-10MPH. My tire was already getting low again so I went to another air pump and filled it before going to Harbor Freight… who was out of plugs till Thursday. AutoZone was near so I got a deluxe plugging kit for $35. Back to the gas station to do this repair by the air pump… but I couldn’t get the nail out by trying to push or pull it. Pumped the tire back up and back to harbor freight for pliers. Back to the gas station air pump. Pulled this out. Got it plugged and then the air pump refused to take my card suddenly. Got change and finally finished the repair. By then it was 4:00. I pulled out and the group was headed the other way, just leaving the food spot. I spun around, but didn’t see them again. Found out later that they stopped at another gas station and waited, but I didn’t see them. I rode home and the plug held. Eventful day, but I can’t complain too much. This is the third time I’ve rode with a couple of these guys, but when I told them to just go without me after spotting the rear tire they stayed. I was running around trying to fix the tire and they texted to make sure I didn’t need help. They seem to stick together and try to help each other. I was supposed to give the guy with the Dio a ride so he could get his car to get the Dio, but I took so long that he got another ride.

That was an eventful ride. I have a puncture repair kit I carry most of the time. A small pair of pliers was a must to add to the kit.

Don’t usually carry any tools on the TMAX. I might have to leave this tire plug kit in there and a pair of pliers and screwdriver at least. Pics of the other scoots by someone else that was there :

Ordered new tires today from Chaparral. Bridgestone Battlax SC2-Rain Front and rear (same as I have now) for $288 shipped. They've been the cheapest place I could find the last few times now.
No plans to replace them too soon. Had my carpal tunnel surgery Tues morning. So far so good, but it'll be awhile before I can ride or do anything heavy duty. Not really supposed to do much at all right now. I fell asleep for about 2 hours today and dreamed that the local news weekend forecast was for 75 degrees. Woke up pissed off that I couldn't ride. lol Then I saw it is supposed to warm back up to low 50s for real and got kinda irritated again. 🤣

Glad the surgery went well. I know here they say not to use your hand at all after. No sneaky guitar practice.

Glad the surgery went well. I know here they say not to use your hand at all after. No sneaky guitar practice. It's weird. I have looked online and most stuff said no or very minimal use for a week. 6-8 weeks for anything repetitive... like typing, guitar, assembly work. My surgeon and written instructions were somewhat vague. Nothing heavy at all for a while, but I should be able to tell what I can and can't do by pain. I find it hard not to cheat typing, but will try to limit that. Definitely no guitar for weeks. I'll have it bandaged for 8 days before stiches should come out so I couldn't if I wanted to... but I don't. No scoots for most say at least a month. Yesterday afternoon I was already wondering how well I could ride with one hand. lol Don't worry, I won't. I'm not that great with both hands. Day 2 there is more pain, but it's mostly just soreness. Nothing too bad so far and I probably overused it day 1.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from that surgery, are you planning on having the other wrist done in the future?

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from that surgery, are you planning on having the other wrist done in the future? Thanks. As long as this goes OK, I’m thinking maybe next winter for the right hand. I don’t really want to do them too close with estimates of 6 months or more for full strength back.

I ordered a small jump box today. I was still debating making a small kit for the TMAX, but it didn't make a lot of sense to me to spend $50-75 on a small second kit when I have one for T2 in a bag that's easily transferred. Made more sense to me to make the one kit more complete with a jump box. I got a GooLoo. Noco seems to be the popular one, but I wasn't going $100. Project Farm seemed to like a GooLoo that he tested. This was $89.99 down to $59.99 and right now another 20% off coupon on amazon (link below) so it was $50. I figured, aside from it's standard use, it could also supply the tire pump if that happened to be low or used a lot or maybe even provide an assist should I go total loss ignition on T2 and run low on juice to get home. It may not fit that well in T2 though. Honestly bought it at least as much to possibly help other riders if I'm out with a group. I've got 8ga jumpers that I made long ago, but to reach my battery the windshield and small front fairing has to come off of the TMAX. amzn.to/3Tyve3AI liked the idea of the cordless tool battery jump boxes, but from what I saw many of them could put the full voltage of the battery into the vehicle. My 18V Milwaukee batts don't worry me for T2... I've seen 17V+ charging plenty of times. I don't like that idea on everything that I'd potentially start though and they aren't any cheaper than the box I bought.

The jump box is a little bigger than I thought so I don't know how much I'll carry it in T2. The box alone is fine, but the cables take up as much room as it does. Seems like a nice thing to have regardless. My old jump box no longer holds a charge well enough to be of use in an emergency, weighs a whole lot more than this and is huge in comparison.
I've got 2 new tires for the TMAX and a new rear tire for T2 sitting here. I got a No Mar tire changer, sitting in the box. I've got concrete anchors for it... the ones that go in the concrete and then you can put bolts in so I don't have to leave it in place all of the time.
I'm itching to see what it's like changing tires with it, or at least get it setup, but today is 2 weeks since carpal tunnel surgery so I'm pretty sure hammer drill and heavy lifting is not on the approved list yet. I've been surprised how easy the surgical process was. Pre-op was the worst really. It took 3 appointments before I could schedule surgery, plus a referral. Then it was just surgery and a single post-op appointment to take the stitches out. I was shocked when the surgeon said no more appointments unless I have trouble. All he said was you'll know what you can do by feel. Basically if it hurts, stop. Really didn't provide detail. It's OK for basic tasks. No strength or weight can be applied though. I thought it would be way longer before any real use was approved.
While I'm giving life updates, the whole family has COVID now. Aside from surgery and the follow-up, I didn't really go anywhere around people before or during the holidays. My parents went to a family gathering with 15-20 people on Christmas. Dad tested positive a few days later, I tested positive New Year's Eve and my mother tested positive today. So far all upper respiratory... more or less like a head cold. Minor fevers, chills and aches. I got some video stuff ready to do voice stuff for... but I can't speak well ATM and prob will barely be talking for some time.

Hopefully the symptoms will carry on being mild. I know you were worried about your parents getting covid before. Still a lot of stuff going round.

I’m mostly better from COVID and clear to go out maskless since earlier in the week. Managed to get a little cough from antics today, but I think just cold air irritating my lungs or windpipe or something.
I took my first ride since carpal tunnel surgery today (a few days shy of 4 weeks). Made it an interesting one. It was 45 degrees with 20-30MPH sustained winds and 40-50MPH gusts. I went to the flooded swamps and forded a little water. Couldn’t explore too much because some parts were impassible and this was at low tide. Wound up wet up to the knees with an hour left to go home from water splashing and blowing and some truck that was scared of the water made me put my foot down in it. Then had to hose off the saltwater after I got home cold as hell.
