I saw a Shad Comfort seat at motostorm.it for about $270 shipped a couple of weeks ago and went for it. I’ve wanted a more plush seat for a long time, but they have been roughly 400-500 for Shad and Corbin. Stock seat. Shad seat. Seems like more of a gap than the old seat, but otherwise looks pretty good IMO. I’ve only sat on it for 2 minutes in the garage so far. The jury is still out based on that. The foam feels softer, but it kinda felt like it just compresses under weight easier. I’ll find out how it really works over the weekend most likely.

I rode about 4 hours this morning. Can't say that the seat is much different than stock. Not impressed. If you bought this direct from Shad right now, it would be about $370 shipped. My take ATM is forget it unless you just want a little different look.
I wish someone would make one without the little backrest thingy in the middle. You can take it off of both the stock and Shad seats... but it's just vinyl over plastic there. No padding. Ditch that thing and make it padded and it would let you move on the seat more and give a larger support area. Prob be a much better seat. Seems like common sense, but the seat manufacturers don't see it. Corbin did make theirs more like a saddle where the whole back is raised vs a bump so you still can't move back. This isn't like the small scoots where you just ride on the back of the seat if you want. You'd have to have long arms and/or be full tuck all of the time.

The best seat improvement I've found is a Merino wool sheepskin. Fitting takes careful planning, clampon grommets. a clever placement of tightening strings. Cool in summer, warm in winter, removes pressure points.

Now that you have 2, decide which one you like the least and have it reworked and recovered.

Prob should have tried something like this instead, but when they call it the "comfort seat" it makes you think it will be more comfortable. 🤔 www.jpcycles.com/product/skwoosh-touring-natural-sheepskin-seat-pad

When I said sheepskin, I meant one that was large enough for the scoot owner to cut to size them selves. But that is a good price from JP.

Just buying another seat and hope for the best is not really a cheap endeavor. The marketing team should get a reward for misleading information at shad Welcome to the world of motorcycle ownership I guess... Like OG said, maybe a specialized upholster can rework the seat to your liking. Hope there is one in your area.

I rode all day Saturday with my friend on the CBR600RR. Forced him to race me multiple times. Obviously I know the outcome. I just enjoy racing win or lose. So after this he starts asking me if I've thought about getting a motorcycle. I was like, dude... if I could keep up with you, you'd be so tired of me asking you to race. Yeah, fast is fun... but I told him there's a beauty to a bike that is really easy to ride and doesn't get me in trouble. I don't worry about the tire slipping when I get into the throttle unless it's wet or dusty or something and that's if I'm stopped or slow. If I need to brake, I just brake. I don't shift. I wanna takeoff, I twist the throttle wide open as quick as I can and that's it. Of course he says you can get a BMW S1000RR and just dump the clutch and throttle and it'll use traction control, launch control and wheelie control and then it automatically blips the throttle as you shift so all you do is shift without the clutch. As soon as I have $26,000 to spare I'm gonna check one out. 🤣 Honestly, even then... I'm old and beat up from crashes. I hurt just riding scooters... or waking up. Add to that, a 200HP upgrade from what I'm on. That'll end well. Amazing machines though. Not much better than listening to some of them... aside from two-strokes and old F1 cars of course.

My F1 viewership was during the end of the point and shoot traction control era and most of the v10 era. Gosh how I miss those ole v10’s.

I didn't really follow F1, but my daughter did. Those V10 engines were the best sounding. The Williams CVT sounded pretty good too.

I would rework the stock seat since you have a replacement, trim down where you want to sit and contour to what is comfortable to you, then build up just behind to give more lumbar support, spray foam or adding and trimming foam to get you the seat you want.
So much you can do, you can fiberglass sand and paint the raised portions and bring it to the body kinda like a Cafe style, still getting the lumbar support. Or you could get some material and stretch and just staple to the plastic like stock. Mexican blanket still looks good on any seat too 😋

The end cap on the Yoshimura had loose rivets and was able to wiggle and vibrate, making noise. I could just replace the rivets there since everything else seemed fine, but Yoshi says to repack at least once a year. I’d have to look it up for accuracy, but I think I’ve put about 8500 miles on it since it was installed a year or less ago. Not enough miles that I’d be repacking it otherwise, since it also doesn’t seem louder than it started, but I might as well do it this time and see how it looks so I ordered Yoshi’s repack kit for basically $50 on RevZilla. It was OK. Didn’t really need replacement just yet. Not really burned up, but mostly just discolored. Repacked. Yoshi uses fiberglass hair that’s all one bunch. They tell you a weight to use based on your sleeve length so you weigh it out and cut it. It’s all done, but the muffler is not reinstalled. I’m kinda tempted to take it out once like this… but not sure it’s worth the risk. If I get an inspection ticket then I’d have to put stock back. I am curious if it’ll shoot flames on decel since it will with the silencer, but don’t know that I’d see them in the daytime. I started it in the garage for 2 seconds and it’s obvious that I’m getting stopped if a cop is anywhere near me. Trying to convince myself not to be stupid, but it’s a battle. LOL
