That's a nice cut on the case half Did you use a portable band saw? Actually I was pretty nervous cutting it. I marked it with a straight edge and scored it with a hand hacksaw. Then went to town with my recip saw on low speed. Smoothed out with a file.

I'm getting ready to get a 12mm pin crank to replace the stock 10mm pin for better reliability what would you guys recommend, Malossi RHQ, Stage6 HPC, Athena or Metrakit prorace. Hey are all about the same cost so that's not an issue. I've had a Malossi RHQ before and it's served me well. The Stage6 and Athena look identical to me. I think I'm leaning towards the RHQ or the metrakit, opinions?

Stroker hyper race.... Athena and Malossi are both well made. Haven't had the pleasure of trying Stage6 or the Metrakit pro race. What stroke is the question?

I use the Stage6 HPC 12mm/80mm/39.2 on my red Jog. No issues what so ever thus far. Running somewhere between 10500 and 11500rpms.

I can't tell you which one is better, but I can tell ya for sure that the rhq will suffer 14k and hold together.

Difficult one. None of the above brands produce their own cranks, its all outsourced. Who knows those cranks are all coming from the same factory with some minor differences?
I don't like malossi for their overpriced products, stage 6 rebrands everything, metrakit went out of business years ago. Only athena is what i would want. Probably rebranded stuff as well but price wise better than the rest.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not going crazy this time around just stock stroke/rod. I'm happy with this cylinder so far so I'm just going to continue to run it until I kill it. I'm just going to swap cranks, clean up transfers and put a 12 pin piston in.

It's not your fault You know I've been going back and forth on this so many times. I've had the other LC motors that were fun but my area is mostly 35-40mph roads. Driving a large piped motor is rather annoying being on and off the pipe constantly. I'd like to see how fast I can get this cast cylinder going. As it is I think I have pretty close to the same exhaust port area as a bridged port with still keeping the rings intact. If I get a finished product similar to what my elite was I'll be happy. Powerful but still reliable.

35-40 MPh roads? Sounds like my bike would be perfect haha. Top speed with stock gears and a small rear tire is about 45, but gets there in a hurry!

Perfect stand to work on a scoot with. With the 13" rim and tire. Does your wheel still spin on the stand?

Damn, Athena usually makes, or puts their name on good parts. What a shame.
The scoot looks great though with those wheels and that stand really makes working on them so much nicer.
