I've put some seat time in to fine tune a part throttle richness, just off idle and I'm happy to say I have a near perfect PHBG setup that works for me. I got rid of the off idle cruise chug- chug. Temps are great, performance is great, and I'm averaging about 50-60 mpg. I've just been racking up miles and burning through fuel (and oil). Don't worry guys I'm still thinking about a winter time LC build. For now I'm super happy with the scoot.

Sometimes I wish I would of just left mine with the good old S6 MKI and c16 set up. Basically the same kind of thing you have now. A perfect high 60's daily rider.

Yeah it's simple (not really) but it works well. I have all the parts for a upper end build just not he cylinder. Even though this one is doing just fine. Overrange, decent pipe, gears it's all working well together putting many smiles per mile on my face. I was talking with scootertuning about the prorace 3 and he doesn't recommend it for street use. I was kind of bummed hearing that. So I may go with the Polini Evo 3. We'll see when riding season is over. I also picked up a very nice iggy that's stashed away that's to Spaz.

I doubt any hyper race cylinders are recommended for street use. They're fun as hell, but super one dimensional. I'm actually really surprised how little issues I've had streeting the Bidalot.

I still may get it... time will tell. I'll just need a different pipe to reach the pro race 3 full potential. I think I can run the evo with this pipe just fine. I have a 28 Keihin on the shelf so that's one less expense.

I got a chance to go and put about 40 miles on the scoot yesterday and I'm feeling very good with its tune and overall setup. I held it full out for about a 5 mile stretch and max temps are staying under 300. In the past with a Keihin I would of thought I'm rich just going by the temps but this is just running too well and the plug looks great. I guess the dell's just deliver fuel cleaner then the Keihins do. I may have converted myself to a Dellorto guy. I'm going to try changing roller weights or maybe lean out the top end to get a few more mph out of it before I make any speed list claims.

Yeah I switched to a 50 slide and a W9 needle. It's pretty happy now.

OEM Zuma airbox with oiled Uni filter, snorkel out and two - 1/2" holes, 1.5" silicone 90 intake hose (in place of OEM) 21mm phbg, 50 slide, W9 needle (top clip plus one washer) 45/95 mixture screw is 1.5ish out. Worth mentioning I'm running 32:1 premix. |
