Did you scuff it with a pad or just wipe it clean and spray it? It's been years, but I believe that I took a scotch brite pad to it. Not that it sees a lot of use but it's held up very well. And of course I used a fuel and oil resistant paint, but you probably already know that. That's what I was thinking... I'll get it cleared when it gets here.

I'm amazed at how accurate the speedo on the Zuma is. I assumed it was off and I used a gps to see how far off it was and it's right on, within 1 mph. I wonder it that's because of the change in tire size. Either way I'm digging it. But that 40 speedo gets buried anyway.

I didn't clear the fender yet just doing a test fit... I'm thinking about painting the section of fender above the case silver to blend into the case. Yay - nay?

Carbon is cool, but it kinda overtakes that area, throw some dull aluminum on the case area like you said and see how it looks,,Lacquer thinner will pull it off if you dont like it...

I'd clear coat it before you paint it so paint comes off easier if you don't like it.

I'll spray it tomorrow I have a grey that's a really good match to the cases. For now just breathe this...

Here's the fender after some wet sanding, a few coats of clear and a touch of grey. It's a fairly close match for the aluminum cases, maybe I'll just paint them the next time I pull the motor. I like it better this way.

I like it that way. Looks nice! It's almost tough to tell where the fender ends and case begins in part of the pic.

I've been steadily putting miles on this motor this weekend, some how I managed just under 150. I was using up a bottle of Castrol RS for the first tank or so and just went back to the Amsoil dominator and found on the same tune, nothing was changed I dropped about 15 deg CHT on average. I knew it was good stuff but that impressed me. The 40 mph speedo was bugging me so I went for a sigma mc10 speedo. Calibrated it at 1588 for my Avon viper stryke 120/70-13 and it's right on with my gps. All in all I'm happy with it, still need to fine tune the PHBG @3/4 throttle but it's all good as it is.

Love those Sigma bicycle speedos,I used them on all my sport bikes back in the day, they'd clock very high speeds accurately!

This one was only $30 and was really easy to setup with a magnet through my rotor. I've checked it against gps and road signs and it's accurate so far, I just had to find the correct value.
