Thanks for making up the graph! I thought it was odd not having a #2 or maybe it was the same as the original CDI but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Another MVT mystery left unsolved.

The time has come that I think it’s time for a set of bars. I like the stock setup with the handlebar cover, I think it’s a classy look but it’s a real pain securing the front end without anything to get a strap on (I hate strapping on grips or brake levers). My scoot seems to be traveling a lot lately so I’d rather make it easier if I can. I’ve got a set of STR8 bars that I’ve had for way too long so I just need to source an adapter... any links?

Knee room isn’t really an issue as I sit at the back of the seat and stretch out. I think after this I’m done for awhile. I’ve got some other stuff going on that needs a my attention.

Nothing going on here just adding a picture. Decent day and asked if my daughter wanted to go for a ride. Just a few laps around the block is all the neighbors wanted. I had one neighbor stare me down but followed by a thumb up. I’ve been happy with my foot up power wheelies but discovered with a slight tug of the bars I can easily look at the sky after leaning over the bars. My daughter thought it was hilarious. My scoot seriously is more abrupt then the big bike.

Hi Ryan; saw a YT vid where you were riding with a guy on his TMax 500. He included the link for this thread. I just picked up my first Zuma, a 2008 model, basically stock. Of course my first thoughts were 70cc kit and a pipe, but I might wait and try to find a junker one for mods, as this one is pretty nice. I may add it to my collection of vintage Yamahas. Regardless, I'll be reading this thread for more insight on what to do. I look forward to learning a lot.

(welcome5) When you have time please show us your Yamaha collection! Pics are not handy, so here is a list: 1963 YG1 80cc rotary valve 1974 DT175 all stock, except chain and sprockets 1975 RD350, orange. 900 miles, looks like it was uncrated yesterday 1983(?) RX50 - "chopper" style with YSR 50cc engine 1989 YSR50 - cherry, about 1000 mi. All stock. 1984 RZ500 race bike project, unfinished 198X Spondon framed TZ350 w/ TZ750 top end And ... it appears I might have a second Zuma this weekend! Another 2008 that is not as nice as the one I bought last week. Fingers crossed on getting it.

I last road a DT175 in the 80's and have not seen a Spondon frame for about 10 years.

I took some time today to fit the trail tech gauge to the handlebar cover. Surprisingly it only took one take. A piece of kydex, some time with the dremel and some scrap metal for the retaining bracket and it’s all set. I still need to do all the wiring and trim the cover for a left side master cylinder but the most tedious part is out of the way. Sorry to go so far back into your thread I am planning to do a similar installation on my scooter. I am not familiar with Kydex plastic, is it textured? My stock handlebar cover is smooth and I dont want to use mis-matched textures. I planned on going naked bars until I saw this TrailTech installation in Brent's newest Endless Summer Scootin' video. You've inspired me! Very clean build

One side is smooth and the other has a slight texture like most plastics you’d find on the bar cover.
