Lighter weights = more RPM. Heavier = less RPM. You'll probably wanna go lighter to keep the revs up after 30. That's gonna raise RPM below 30 too, but you might have to find a compromise that suits you.

Depends how high it is. You'll probably know. If it gets too high you'll loose acceleration because you won't stay in the powerband. Trial and error is the best way to tune a CVT. Slap some lighter weights in there and see how you like it.
